This is something that I think really should be addressed because it is not in the spirit of Classic.
The Action Camera that was implemented during Legion and scrapped still exists inside the Classic client. This is in the same vein as “using the new models” - although it is only a small change - it is absolutely not in the spirit of Vanilla.
If you don’t believe me - simply typing “/console ActionCam full” into the chat bar will enable the “new” ActionCam - a feature absolutely not present in Vanilla.
Developers really should look at disabling this - as it is an artifact from a much later time in WoW’s development.

Considering you have to console it in, i dont think it does.
Thank you for showing me this existed.
Do people actually use action cam? It gives me serious motion sickness

thanks for giving me motion sickness
not full action cam but the off set is more inline with an RPG. If this guy was in charge of ensuring Classic stayed to it roots, it would have never been possible considering all the changes under the hood, just a basic troll

“Just a basic troll”
If you say so. /shrug
It doesn’t belong in Classic - just like the new models didn’t.
How did you know it’s in Classic if you don’t use it?

Just don’t type “/console ActionCam full” into the chat box.

Where is it listed again to turn off the auto-shift of camera when you are running ? I don’t like that, You go to turn your cam and then it auto-turns back

This is not a gameplay changing feature that effects the community. Just like graphics settings, you have no leg to stand on because it actually has ZERO impact on people who choose not to use it.
Oh I know many think “Well, you could say the same thing about transmog because that could be made personal to you and not visible to others.” Nope, because transmog adds a collection element to the game which effects how you play, and indeed would have the almost nauseating effect of people joing groups and needing on items for the ‘mog’.
Action Cam and new character models (obviously without new combat animations) are EXACTLY the same as the new dense grass, new water and new shadows-- none of which existed in vanilla. These DO NOT change how the game is played, and are precisely the same as simply upping the fidelity just like any other setting. We didn’t have ultra-widescreen monitors back then #nochanges. We didn’t have 4k screens back then #nochanges.

Oh no, other people are playing differently than me, my immersion!

Wrong.
Playing differently can be bad. Graphics settings are not playing differently, it is a matter of fidelity.

It is actually kind of sad that you would take the time to write a post complaining about this. You’ve got so many things you could have chosen that are not authentic “Vanilla” mechanics that have been added to Classic and yet you complain about an insignificant camera angle option? My god.

Because I remembered it’s a thing that got added in the 7.3 Client - which is what the Classic Client is based on. Two seconds of experimentation - yep. Still there.
So you decided to be a busybody, type in the command and complain about it?

Save your energy for things like the new ‘meta’ which is dungeon cleave levelling.
Uuuh what a hideous thing, and you can bet as that trend gains traction you’ll be seeing nothing but 'LF DM cleave run must be 20+ 3 mage for carry paying 1g per run." Oh I bet we’re already seeing that but what I speak of is that every other post.
Thankfully they nerfed that other abomination that was the 10 grp zerg spam.
