Achievements

You forgot layering. Vanilla had no such thing. It may be going away, but it’s still here. :woman_shrugging: It’s not a ture vanilla experience.

It has game-play impact. I talk to my alliance friends that play on the same server while I am horde. Back in vanilla this was almost impossible unless you all used a 3rd party program.

Then it wouldn’t be Classic would it?

I don’t need them in Classic, but if they’” ever decided to add them I’d be okay with it as long as meaningless things like level 10 didn’t warrant them.

Use it for actual achievements. Not ‘JOINED A GUILD’ or ‘LOOTED SMALL AMOUNT OF GOLD!!!’ Too many of them are downright silly.

I’ve got my achievement for getting a tabard from the scourge event from Vanilla so when people try to trash on me for not playing Vanilla i can always bring it up.

Achievements are great, you can promise you killed Mythic Azshara but unless you have an achievement your word means squat.

yes, it would still be classic. Classic isn’t vanilla. You can never truly have vanilla again. That time has passed.

Then it wasn’t “impossible,” was it? We had TeamSpeak and a few other 3rd party programs. So the launcher’s chat isn’t a revelation; it’s just an adopted 3rd party program. Those programs – including the launcher’s chat – are OUTSIDE of the game and cannot be counted as a mod to the game. I used some of those in FS9 and FSX play, even D2, long before WoW became a thing.

But did vanilla have it? NO… So according to all you #nochangers it has no place in classic. But yet it’s in it.

Oh another retail person wanting retail features.

anyways…

oh another nochanger wanting to kill a perfectly good game because they want no new features that don’t majorly change game-play.

You are killing it by bringing in Achievements that cause a culture of “bring achieves to raid or no invite”. This feature didn’t arrive till wrath so you must be a wrath baby. It opens Pandora’s box to other retail stuff if one thing comes to classic. Please we don’t need achievements for 15+ old content lol.

Not having Achievements are major incentives to do things.

You do things because you want to. Not because some list says you’re missing this thing. Then it becomes tedious.

Achievements work really well in some games, like The Binding of Isaac. I have never thought they fit with any of Blizzard’s games, to be honest. I would be genuinely dismayed to see them implemented in Classic.

I never stated that Blizzard had to implement the same achievements. So they don’t have to add dungeon/raid achievements. They can have questing one, zone ones, pvp one, and silly ones like falling so many feet and not dying.

They already have the falling one in retail what are you even talking about. This game doesn’t need to provide you a list of things to do. Its already out there go do them. Any achievements in Classic is meaningless.

Classic in general is meaningless…

If that’s your opinion why are you even playing to begin with? holy ****

because it’s a time-sink and it passes time. Plus it’s better than retail in the sense of being fun.

If this version of the game is never going to see updates other than the 6 phase content plan it is essentially pointless.

Then it’s not meaningless to you if you are having a sense of it being fun. I can tell you right now that they are only planning to release phase by phase. Any changes like achievements is wishful thinking. Good luck trying to get that.

Vanilla didn’t have a launcher, either. Do you load WoW from the .exe file? or do you click on the launcher’s icon? SEPARATE the two. One is NOT the other. Compare apples to apples, or oranges to oranges, but not apples to oranges.

It’s not pointless, you’re just missing the point…
