I want something simpler… the ability to invite my alts to my own guild without needing a second account of another player
Like, sending the invitation through the mail or something… I hate that I can’t do that.

Nah. In other games with account wide gold and bank tabs, soulbound items show up as soulbound to another character and can’t be used
LOOOoooord would I kill for an account-wide, unlimited reagent bank like ESO has.
Im sure they wont bother programing function like this…
Another big disadvantage is that now each character has a bank with several bag estension + material extension…
So if you have 10 characters you could have 10 banks…
but 1 player has only one bank… If they would normalize it that there is only one bank, it would very disadvantage people with multiple alts.
But I dont say that complete rework wouldnt be bad, like limitless crafting reagent bank.
Which never ceases to infuriate me in GW2 - a game which has an account-wide bank much like the OP is suggesting.
… It’s also heavily monetized, and the default bank slots you get before you open your wallet aren’t even 1/10th the size you get in WoW.
However:
Something like this, just for crafting materials, that’s unlimited and without any nasty hangups? Yes please.
Isn’t this why we have all created bank alts, and a guild with only that bank alt as a member? Surely that’s enough storage for even the most dedicated of pack-mules?
ESO is pretty cool. If youre subbed your have a bottomless mats bag shared by all of your characters.
Im pretty sure that your gold in the bank is shared too because I put 30k gold into the bank on one character, then when I log into another character that shouldnt have ANY gold in the bank it shows that that character has got the 30K in his account.
Pretty cool set up.
i would be happy with an account wide mailbox so my alliance toons can mail cash to my horde toons
not sure why this isn’t a thing already
I believe a version of this is on the cards for 9.0 you can send invites to offline people and they get it when they login.
OH god please no unless its like unlimited tabs no
That’s unlikely to happen just because they have to keep the economy in balance. I am not a programmer of any sort but i know it could create issues if people were dumping tons of money from one faction into another.
AH has included both factions buying/selling between them for years, only restriction is you can’t buy an item listed by another of your own toons on the same account.
I don’t need an entire shared bank. Just 1 slot will do: built into some spare space or set aside out of the existing bank interface that allows an item to be seen by all chars on my account. It would help enormously for passing that rare transmog between servers or the pattern or pet which dropped elsewhere.
Possible mechanic: items (BOE) put into the slot are given a temp hidden flag of BOA while in it. And the slot functions as a mailbox viewable to all. It must be doable if other BOAs can be transferred by mail between servers.
Yes! I agree and have a plan!
On the personal bank tab, there would be 8 slots on the right side of the personal bank. Those slots would open similar to the requirements for a guild bank, by gold or achievements, whatever!
Each character would have to get that slot open to access the shared account tabs, and perhaps it is a chest created by a leather worker or a combination. Needless to say, it would not be some easily obtainable that would be immediate.
In concert with this effort, discourage personal guild banks. I am not sure how to accomplish it but it would benefit the community. If people did have their alts in personal guilds like that, perhaps there would be more interaction. Make it so guilds need people to survive, so guild masters start recruiting and needing people. The compensation of course, is shared personal banks.
I personally only keep my toons in a personal guild for shared material, I have two toons in raiding guilds. I’d be glad to get rid of a guild bank if I could.
EQ2 had personal bank and shared bank. Limited slots each that you could put bags and boxes in.
Shared bank could only hold unbound and account bound items.
Worked well enough. Was server restricted.
Some of my alts should not have access to my main’s bank account. Especially my Goblin Rogue. He definitely can’t be trusted.
