sadly it wont happen.
Essences and other BFA features wont be adjusted probably until th eprepatch.
Thats how blizzard does it. if they wanted to they would have. so they obviously never want to.
Those rings are a reward for doing certain content once and then leveling through that content you’ve already experienced faster. They aren’t meant to be an end game catch up??
Just add an essence vendor and sell essences for a currency that drops in current content including visions/assaults. Let people catch up on essences quickly in current content. Also remove the requirement to do the 8.2 intro before you can even start 8.3.
Then maybe you’ll get some of the 63% subs you’ve lost since August back. If not, at least the few people still playing will have a better time.
So tell me whats the solution then, You still have to earn them once instead of 2-4 times.
So having to go back to 8.2 content that is a tier old and having to do naz dailies for 10+ days is not long or boring? Seems to me like you dont know what you’re talking about.
Judging from your character, its a classic character. Its hidden. Show me your main, show me your heroic kills, show me your mythic progress from the new raid. Yup lets sure listen to someone who has no experience tells us that essences are “easy” to get when they dont even have them all at rank 3 or higher.
Imagine defending such a terrible system even blizzard knows it is, that is why its going away next expansion.
Noticed mainly everyone who is against it doesnt have rank 3 essences, lfr experience, low ilvl. These are the same people saying its easy to get rank 3 when they dont even have rank 3 themselves… Hmm…
I have rank 3 essences on multiple toons and I’m against account wide essences. I haven’t touched the new raid on even heroic this tier as my work schedule started to conflict as soon as the patch dropped, but my mains ilvl is the same as yours so obviously I’m more than just an “lfr hero”. Does my opinion matter when I say I’m against account wide essences?
I don’t agree with essences, no, but I’ll never position myself in account progression over character progression. I’d be more supportive of them just flat giving us all essences since it’s the end of the tier that way it would actually help new and returning players than to make them account bound and helping people with their alts.
Everyone has their own opinions and thats fine. I just hate how people think its bad for the game. Having to do this grind over and over is bad for the game, its unnecessary.
It is bad for the game to share power progression with alts. This game is becoming more arpg than mmorpg as it is. I’d agree that power progression shouldn’t rely on reputation in the manner that it has though
Does not take 10 days, didn’t even take that before they made the changes. And if you had played 8.2 when it was current you wouldn’t have to go back to old content. If you don’t play the current when it is current, of course you have to do it later - nothing new about that.
You actually don’t have a clue what you are talking about. Sure I will grant you most people who want to skip doing these on their alts are heroic/mythic raiders but almost everyone who wants to maintain character progression already has done this on multiple alts - blizzard can see my account and that this is so.
I have posted screenshots of 8 or so of my characters all with rank 3/4 essences in previous threads.
When has this game ever not required long boring grinds? This is the easiest, most entertaining, story driven grinds I’ve ever seen in WoW.
I would be fine with either A) any essences you have unlocked on a character getting it’s rank 1 unlocked account wide, or B) more extreme so less likely, you getting one rank lower than the highest you’ve unlocked, so if you have the epic version of an essence on a character, all characters would get the blue quality version.
But Blizzard already knows this.
But Blizzard already knows that we ALL want this, it is obvious.
But Blizzard wants you to earn them on those alts, still.
OF COURSE players want things to be “Easier.” They will ALWAYS want this, it is moot to make so many threads on the obvious subject.
(Blizzard) “You know, we knew players wanted things to be easier with us making account bound essences; I mean, of COURSE they do! However, it was not until we saw YET ANOTHER thread on the subject, by Kveikur which then totally pushed our “tip meter for player wishes”, over the edge! Now we shall put it in the game!”
You have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about. lol
Essences are very comparable to gear, you just don’t replace them every couple weeks.
Essences are a bandaid fix that was hastily implemented to try and cover for terrible class design. Nothing more.
And that is what makes them not comparable to gear? Really?
The same can be said for trinkets with on-use effects then.
Bro what? I healed a +5 Junkyard on a boosted RDruid at like 418 IL last week with just rank 1 Crucible Major. No Minors.
Imagine being this worked up over other people wanting to get rid of a new system they don’t like. Did you freak out this hard when Blizzard made it take 5 minutes to fully level an artifact weapon in Legion? That was significant character power too.
Exactly! The Champions of Azeroth rep ilvls were made account bound in 8.1… Why does everyone seem to forget that? Where were the arguments against that then? Why was there no outcry? Why didn’t all of these people against “account wide progress” unsub?
Hmmm… Maybe because it was a good change just like how account wide essences would be.
I think a lot of things need to become Account-Bound. Making Honor Level account-bound was huge for me personally. It means I can play any character and I’m still working on something and focusing on one thing all all along.
I don’t think anyone expects Heirlooms to be used in end game but the same tech could be applied to essences on an account.
It won’t happen because once 9.0 drops essences will be in the rear view mirror like Legion Weapons and Legendaries. My point is they could use the same tech if they choose too.
You are suggesting that there is no point in criticizing or offering fixes for any of the current in game systems. WoW classic is the perfect example of why your suggestion is wrong.
It is not one person, or one thread that makes a change. It is the community. It everyone all voicing their disdain and contempt for certain systems. It is the constructive feedback that gets echoed over and over until it just becomes the obvious fix.
I don’t know about you, but I wasn’t forced to play bejeweled in any of the 8.3 World quests. If everyone was silent about their lazy, pathetic mobile games being implemented as forced content then we would have a candy crush raid.
We have at least another 6 months of 8.3. The least they could do is iron out a few of the glaring issues that have been suggested.
