Didnt Blizzard say you could still change the size of text and colors of stuff?
It’s WA devs who quit. There could be new addon developpers creating something for heavy visuals modification.
How would allowing addons to access information about the player’s own health, buffs, debuffs and resources enable trivialising content, if addons continued to have:
- no access to other players’ information
- no access to the target’s information
- no access to chat during encounters
- no access to any debuffs or buffs applied by the boss/mobs being fought?
I don’t agree that the only way to achieve Blizzard’s stated goal is to completely nuke all addon access to everything that could be considered “combat” information.

Your agreement is not required. Blizz has stated the reasoning for how that works and frankly I see their point. It is simply too much work to allow that access under the current system.
As someone who works hand in hand with devs on a daily basis it makes far more sense to build it into the base game and then to allow the addons access only to visual presentation of that limited layer.
It’s not what they said they would do, and it’s also not at the pace they promised to do it.
If you’re fine with those deliberate lies from Blizzard, good for you.
If you are trusting Blizzard that can fix their base UI, you are way too generous. We know how slow they move with the cooldown manager and other, there’s no way they will make it

except that there’s a lot of different kinds of handicaps me for instance have a lot of issues visually so when I get visual warnings in game I often don’t even realize they are there because my brain isn’t processing it properly So I have changed all of those via DBM and some week auras…to make sure everything that I need to pay attention to is completely audio so all I have to look at is where I need to stand but even then because I can’t see stuff it’s nice to have a warning to get out of something…. it’s very easy for somebody that is not having those issues to be like you just want weak auras I hate weak auras It makes my computer run slow but it’s a necessary evil for me to be able to play in any real harder end game content
