There aren’t 30 groups in the GF at a given time, full stop. You talking raid or M+? Certainly not in raid.
Then don’t get one. And since actions have consequences, for the betterment of the entire community, you’re not going to be allowed to spam LFG on level 1s. So sad.

surfaced in regards to Blizzard’s MMORPG. World of Warcraft. Apparently hackers have created a tool that grants them access to accounts protected by an authentication tool. Once they are in control of the account, hackers can thus steal virtual gold and possessions until the account password is reset. Currently there’s no indication if the hackers gain access to data such as credit cards or other personal information.
The tool in question is a keylogger, possibly a file named emcor.dll which can be found in C:/Documents and Settings/Users/[username]/Application Data/Temp. Once the user launches the keylogger, the PC is infected and will in turn cause World of Warcraft to crash. Once the players re-start the game and log back into the account, the authenticator code is intercepted by the hacker. A different code is sent to Blizzard’s servers, locking the player out.

keyloggers don’t work against authenticators, Only a man in the middle attack does and those are so far and incredibly targeted that your average hell even above average person will likely never encounter one.

I just tried it in game. I don’t have an authenticator. I was able to make a group and it was labeled appropriately with the ilvl and M+ score I wanted, np.
Only thing I can’t do is make an M+ group without a key or write something fancy like “LF DPS NO BADDIES”
And you know what? Given the absolute zero number of advertisements I saw in LFG, I’m okay with this.

So for all of you defending this. I have been checking the LFG tool periodically.
There was a WTS arena rating group about an hour ago. There is a raid one up right now.
So less than 24 hours … because of course. Why? Adding authenticator doesn’t fundamentally solve the problem. Not at all actually. It just makes it more difficult/time ocnsuming. Not impossible.
So again I will redirect you to alternative ways to achieve the goal…
So please stop defending this authenticator non-sense ruining GF as a “fix”. Like I said earlier, this is a bandaid at best.
A GF tool should allow me to specify what the group is for, what I am clearing, what I am looking for, how far we are going. I don’t need free-form text necessarily, just the ability to convey this information. Locking the free-form text is like the worst UX solution they could possible come up with.

If its just a game build a bridge and get over the issue then, either grow up and do what needs to be done or stick it to blizz by showing them how cool you are by not getting an authenticator.
Then go play another game and don’t play this one, You’ve not come up with a legitimate excuse as to why you can’t/don’t have an authenticator.

Those accounts if true, which I doubt very much, will get reported, then they won’t be able to advertise on that account any more, working as intended.
The sellers will give up pretty fast on the group finder once they have been reported a couple times because they need proper accounts now, not just throw away ones.
Not to sound too blunt, but if you can play the game; you can get the app.
It’s free, there are emulators, you almost entirely set it and forget it. For the life of me I don’t know why people wouldn’t take the literal 2 minutes to set this up. It’s a good thing to have, regardless.

Just log into the game and do a search for raid. I obviously can’t say the name due to the forum rules, but there aren’t that many groups up for heroic.
Until they make another account, like they already do, when enough people report and the post is taken down. If Blizzard wasn’t taking action on the account from user reports, then not sure how all of sudden they will now.
I can assure you most of these accounts are not “proper” accounts.
Just periodically armory the group creator. You will see he has accomplished nothing other than hitting 60.
My point still stands. Creating a hurdle for posting an advert, is still just a hurdle. You can jump over hurdles, go around, or barrel through them.
If custom text is really really the problem, then just add pre-baked Blizzard labels that we could append (such as class/spec), the word “need”, etc. So we can construct Blizzard approved phrases (“need” “warlock” or “at” “tarragrue”).
Do that above and you eliminate the ability to create sell groups entirely. You can essentially only create predetermined combos of Blizzard approved words.

“need” “healer”
“@bossname”
“full clear”
%s not allowed, punctuation not allowed, you would never be able to type in your website or even the words wts unless it is literally your toon name or you start naming your seller websites after raid bosses. Best of all, this works regardless of authenticator status.

I got a ffx14 account that makes my blizzard 1 look like dog food best weapons ect. And no autenticator
