I find there are some big problems in these quests:
Horde can’t teleport in the Horde armies in Silvermoon.
Ok why not.
And then:
“Let us not forget how many of my people bruned when the Sin’dorei failed to aid us at Teldrassil”: Shandriss is right so why the Kal’dorei should help them after all the Horde did to them and when the Horde should help the Sin’dorei in this war?
Thalyssra isn’t so young ok, but how she can already forget it was the Kirin Tor who first came to Nightborne aid when the Kal’dorei, Sin’dorei and Quel’dorei came after Kirin Tor to help them .
So the problem was Tyrande but now it’s all the Kal’dorei?
Yea, Me thinks they know its dumb that the horde isn’t involved but they also don’t want them to be involved and instead of doing the smart thing and just giving us a reason like “xal’atath as tied them up elsewhere” they’ve decided to go this route of all things.
I think it’s more a random bug appearance thing. Because I don’t see Thalyssra with the others at all.
I had to fly out and fly back in just to get her to spawn to start the Nightborne section of the quest chain.
But yeah this whole thing feels dumb, especially because Arator jumping to “We need to gather the Elves” just seems very random and out of the blue over being all “We need to get the armies of the Horde and Alliance that have solved nearly every problem thrown at us.”
He specifically states that the Elves should be reunited because Elves are the ones with the most experience dealing with world ending wells of magical power. Well of Eternity, Sunwell, Nightwell.
It’s not the best of reasons. But that’s the stated reason.
I’m sure the Horde will get called in if Xal’atath unleashes an army of tasty children or introduces a new planet ripe for Horde Imperial Invasion where the Orcs can pillage the land and slaughter it’s native peoples to their hearts content.
What’s kinda silly is that the Horde doesn’t even need portals. They have Zepplins, airships. It’s been a major theme of the Horde since the start.
Remember the Twilight Highlands intro for Horde? Garrosh had a whole Zepplin fleet to invade. it didn’t work out well because story, but it was still there in the lore.
The airships -should- be landing troops and supplies in Tranquillien and then moving north.
I’m mad salty that Malfurion and Tyrande were not present during that meeting.
I have my theories as to why, lore reasons and practicality with voice actors, but I would have at least liked to have seen their character models there with some written opinions on this matter. I find it weird that Shandris is just the defacto leader.
Pause for a moment and consider that you are the Death Lord of the Ebon Blade.
This is not a temporary assignment: The four Horsemen have recognized your authority almost every expansion since after Legion ended that we’ve interacted with them – this expansion not withstanding.
You could call the most powerful Necropolis the Scourge ever made to Silvermoon. You have not only resistance to Void, but your power is one the Void actively fears.
You have the opportunity of using the army that caused the biggest quel’dorei genocide in modern history to defend them. As Georgieboy Lucas used to say, “It’s like poetry: It rhymes.”
Shandris is currently the leader of the Night Elves.
After Amirdrassil bloomed into Azeroth and Malfurion returned, he and Tyrande officially stepped down and essentially went on vocation to be with one another, and appointed Shandris to lead their people.
The “failed to aid us in Teldrassil” line is bizarre. The Blood Elves weren’t passive, they were an active part of the invasion force. Heck the Horde companion for the prepatch is a Blood Elf who very clearly murders his way through Ashenvale with glee.
I remember the quest line when Tyrande and Malfurion stepped down, I guess I just don’t like it very much lol. Those characters have deep history with the game, I still want them around </3
i hated this quest chain nearly as much as I have ever hated a lore beat in this franchise
awful. random silver covenant apologia, horde erasure, anasterian is the bestest boy ever, blood elf humiliation ritual, night elf relevance jammed in for the umpteenth time, complete nonsensical logistics, writers demanding suspension of disbelief instead of even trying to make it make sense…
awful. awful awful awful. i award you no points and may god have mercy on your souls. 0/10.
Blizzard has a long, long, long history of ignoring things which contradict the story they want to tell.
See, the Vindicaar for every conflict since Legion. Or Jaina’s magic flying ghost ship with city wall destroying arcane cannons since BFA. Or the Shal’dorei ability to make permanent stable arcane portals with Telemancy since Legion. Or a dozen other things.
As they outright said when questioned about this sort of stuff before “It isn’t the story we want to tell”
To be fair, the High Elves had their reasons, and ultimately, those were accepted by Silvermoon and moved passed the incident. Also the elves are united! We are all the bestest of friends! Make love, not warcraft!
