No, you are just clueless about the Horde. If Baine wanted to defy Sylv, and protect his people, and have a shred of honor or courage, there was an easy and simple solution within the traditions of the Horde. It’s called a Mak’gora. He could have challenged her for leadership at any time, for any reason. Yet he was too cowardly.
he literally said he would banish anyone who retaliated against the Alliance due to Camp Taurajo because “it’s a valid strategic military sight”
the same camp Taurajo that was a simple little hunters camp, that was besieged by an entire Alliance Outpost’s worth of troops (which said troops were convicted criminals conscripted as punishment) that “let a path open for the women and children to flee to safety” right into the middle of a Quillboar encampment that then slaughtered them all.
if he isn’t an alliance sympathizer then he’s just the most idiotic leader the horde has ever had and should have been replaced by someone with half a brain.
Pretty rich to assume it would have Worked.
Not a very smart cost benefit analysis when you know the horde was just trying to cause as many deaths as possible.
Kill Jaina 1 death, get Jaina on genocide rampage? More deaths
reads some of these replies
You know…I am really hoping these replies are from an in character perspective and not subconscious nationalism slipping out.
Both factions committed genocide. Or at the very last massacres. That’s also no counter to us saying: Baine should have protected his people during the invasion of the Barrens.
Look, Talanji already had Jaina on her kill list at this point. The difference would be minimal. Jaina and Talnji both would have to stay down. End of story. Perhaps not, possible.
But the problem people have with Baine should be clearer to see now.
In fact from a military standpoint , Jaina is a prime target for assassination at all times . Because of how much of a danger she is . There shd be Horde assassins shadowing her all the time just waiting for a moment
And if they thought they could succeed they would have done it.
Fact they didn’t was because they couldn’t and knew it would just piss her off.
Agreed. I’m tired of that hag being our best friend one moment and trying to kill every last one of us the next.
The amount of powerful characters Blizzard is stacking on the Alliance is getting ridiculous. It’s getting to the point where it doesn’t make sense that we’re still alive.
Ok all that put aside.
You can’t see why people have some problems with how Baine is used?
Especially compared to Carine (who was well liked).
Its almost like we just had a whole expac thats end lesson was “overwhelming aggression to solve a problem is bad”
You mean Baine decided that … though in game that’s not even the reason he gives when he betrays the horde .
Yeah the problem they have is he can see a bigger picture and does not retaliate with bloodshed to every slight.
Which is fine, they are horde players after all. They think nuking multiple cities and genocide nearly an entire race is equal to accidentally leading some civilians to getting killed by quillboars.
I can 100% see why people have problems with it, that was never in doubt.
Doesn’t mean I can’t reach conclusions about the type of problems people have.
The point you’re missing is Baine was playing with fire.
On one hand, yes letting Derek be a bomb would have possibly failed at killing Jaina and pissed her off.
On the other, betraying Sylvanas would have absolutely pissed her off and Baine knew what her reaction was going to be.
Baine picked the death of the Horde (tauren, Forsaken and that one guy shot through the heart*) OVER the death of humans.
Humans are the enemy. Tauren and the Forsaken are not. My problem with Baine is he picked wrong and you, with your blue background thinking he picked right means nothing to people on this side of the fence.4
*What was this guy’s name? I’m drawing a blank!
If the Horde was led by competent leadership , Jaina would either be poisoned or would have her throat slit when she is sleeping . Letting her be alive is like having a ticking time bomb after what she almost did to Orgimaar.
I’m out of likes, but this ^^^
Yes, lets risk another all out war that will kill more of our people because of what someone almost did.
You know this is a video game right?
So let’s do some math. Some Tauren(potentiallly) and a single undead dude versus how many undress of thousands killed by Jaina.
Hummm maybe I am bad at math but that seems like a solid trade.
Also ignoring that all of those deaths would have been caused by the horde is pretty funny.
“You can’t do this because your brothers lives are worth more, however if you do it then you will be killed by those brothers”
You would have a case if the threat of retaliation was from alliance. But it is horde doing all the killing in those situations.
