I can assure you it’s gone, I did a corpse run on nelf from wetlands to loch modan and when I spirit rezed there I was sent back to wetlands.
I’ve been hearing this was changed / bugged. Fix it. Along with MC on boats, and FD + Freezing Trap with hunters.

At the end of the day, it doesn’t take a genius to get a feeling that something is going on, whether you want to believe one thing or the other.

Nope, I was still able to mess around with infernals at crossroads in BC.

I specifically remember a guild contest back in Vanilla. It was a naked race from Stormwind to ZG. I thought I was gonna be sneaky and intentionally die and run as a wisp to the STV graveyard. I chuckled to myself at how clever I was and how easily I would beat everyone. Once I got there I was unable to res and had quite a bit of egg on my face. I don’t know what your experience has been, but my personal anecdote is that this wasn’t possible in Vanilla.

Yes, that’s what I mean. Although this was possible until Cata, it is not possible in the reconstituted Classic iteration of “original” WoW.
It wasn’t “overlooked” it was deliberately removed from game.
I was trying to be optimistic, but deep down, I know you’re right
