Abilities we want back

the artifact abilities are really minor in comparison to everything we lost since MoP.

most classes had only 1-2 active ability coming from the weapons.

it was mostly just enhancements to our abilities we already had, which wasn’t enough at all to some people.

Paladins: Auras and the old glyph that let your consecration follow you around.
Warriors: Stances.
DKs: Presences.
These were a simple but effective mechanic and the rational that people couldn’t use them is just asinine…

Those abilities added some flair to rotation.

I want:

Shaman:

  • Water Shield
  • Abilities that were once baseline to be baseline again

Druid:

  • Displacer Beast please

sure but I’d take some utility spells over some flavor any day.

and btw. expansions like Cata and MoP for example had both.

Aside from some specs…alot did get those abilities. Unholy, Frost DK, Fire mage, etc…

Now the passives are another story but really thats all that artifact weps were, a bunch of passives that made you alot stronger.

WTB Soul burn/soul swap combo back.

It made leveling an affliction warlock so much fun. Now I don’t do my full damage until I’m 5 GCD’s in. feelsbadman.

I like the abilities I have. Just unnerf them.

I would like to see some of the rogue class utility restored. They gutted most of it and then split it up over the three different specs.

Give shamans their shield as baseline as well as their totems. I miss paladin auras a lot as well.

In my opinion the issue with a lot of specs is the flavor of the rotation. For example most Ret pallies will tell you their rotation is pretty boring than say a Fury Warrior.

The artifact ability also added some flow to clunky specs for example WW monks.

Not that I am against any other ability being brought back but i am for usable abilities over passives being brought back.

Totems are literally the class theme, along with elementals.

I’ve never had issues, as I’m almost always restoration, so I can’t speak for DPS, but I want my totems back.

Basically get rid of this ridiculous PvP talent only system.

Shaman: totems and shocks back for enhance. A shield, and I want my puppies to heal again

Paladin: auras and buffs for all specs.

I am sure there are more, but these stick out.

For Rogues, Death from Above for PvE
For Warrior, I want my Gladiator spec back.

I’m going very oldschool here.

For Paladin, my favorite time was the 6/9/6/9/6 rotation in Wrath, and that was a high point for Paladins in general. Even if we are stuck with Holy Power forever, I want the rotation back with the flavor.

It’s too little too late for Legion, but all of their anti-Demon and anti-Undead abilities were VERY unique to the Paladin and gave the class a sense of identity.

  • Scare Undead (fear that worked on undead)
  • Exorcism (I believe it always crit undead and demons?)
  • Holy Wrath (it would do double damage to undead and demons and stun)
  • Consecration baseline
  • Auras
  • Seals

Some players will always pick the most powerful class according to third party websites, but most of us choose our class based on class fantasy and how we enjoy playing.

Paladins help people. We don’t sneak. We aren’t the fastest or the most fearsome damage dealers, but we are tough to kill and we HELP people. As such, it is lame for us to not be able to bless our allies.

I mean, a pally should be blessing people at every world quest stop. We used to be able to do that. It made sense! Paladins are supposed to be out there blessing and buffing. It sucks that we can’t anymore.

Paladins, druids, and priests should have buffs as part of their class fantasy.

I miss exorcism but I can’t say honestly I miss turn evil because I fee llike when I used it the undead that was feared went 300% faster

I just remember when Paladin felt like a hybrid of Priest and Warrior, they had many ranged and many melee abilities. Ranged supplemented the spec, but the majority of the DPS was in melee, however you weren’t turbo useless if got out of 5 feet range.

In addition I miss the old animations.

The hammer dropping from above, like judgement from above, for judgement just felt so visually powerful. It came crashing down onto their head.

Divine Storm lingered and felt like a super saiya-jin aura. Lightning and swirling hammer, really a holy storm. It felt powerful and distinct.

Excorism flashing into the enemy, consecration granting holy ground where you stood.

The art of the Paladin felt incredibly more powerful compared to now. I miss the old art and the old rotation. It felt like a literal holy fighter. Not just a pee colored warrior with sparkles.

A few abilities back won’t change much, we need a massive overhaul & bring classes back to BC/Wotlk level with maybe skill trees

Also Death Knights being able to tank in any spec & 2H Frost, that would be swell, Classes need to have unique stuff like that return.
