Premades are a fairly common problem in PVP, especially in large-scale combat, such as Epic Battlegrounds. Most of the time, these malicious groups win pretty easily, and for their unfortunate victims, it is a long, drawn-out, and painfully demotivating loss. If you had asked me this morning whether I thought premade groups always won, I’d have said yes. After this recent Isle of Conquest match I was in, though… I’m of a different opinion. We lost the battle for the Hangar at the beginning of the BG, which caused more than half of our group to leave. We also lost Workshop, Docks, Refinery, and the Mines. Things were looking pretty grim, but suddenly, we turned it around. Some of us put pressure on the Hangar, forcing them to defend it. This allowed the rest of the group to seize many of the other objectives, including the Workshop and the Docks. Things were starting to turn around. We traded these objectives for a while, but in each engagement, we (Horde team) took more of our enemies down than they did us, and so we stayed above them in reinforcements. Now, of course, because they had the hangar, the loss of one of our gates was inevitable. When it did fall, we turned that fallen gate into a death trap. We were LOSing their ranged (most of which were MM Hunters), forcing them to get closer, and when they did, we slaughtered them in mass. The BG lasted for over an hour, but by the end of it, we beat the premade in a battle of attrition, and undoubtedly made them seethe.
The point of this post is to give hope to those of you who have suffered because of premades. To show you that they can be beaten. You just have to hang in there and fight for the win. Don’t give up so easily. Fight! Kill! And show those toxic bags of crap that we’ve still got teeth!
this didn’t happen vs a premade or any team with 10 capable players. any pug trying to turtle ioc is going to have demos and glaives rammed down their throat as the airship nukes the courtyard.
I had a couple of really good epics this past weekend that were “pug” vs. premade. One was a win and one was a loss, but it’s not about win or lose. It’s about neither side getting completely steamrolled.
I don’t mind fighting premades that are not so overwhelming but still force a good fight.
Good epic battleground games are hard to find these days. But they’re out there.
I’ve been in 5 epics with this back peddling bot recently. He afks out immediately. These fake stories about pug vs premades being fun? Sure thing grandpa, let’s get you back to bed.
Oh, they tried that. Many times, in fact. We just destroyed them whenever they did. As for the Airship, they were bombing us whenever they could. It just wasn’t enough.
I don’t think they are. At least I don’t remember them ever defending it.
Personally I like to take people at their word, so I believe your story and it’s happened before. It’s just the rare exception.
A single stealthy can take out all the glaives by themselves. Even if they are being heavily defended it only takes a few people to take them out. Demos don’t have much more health.
I was a random in a game like this not sure if it was a premade though, basically we barely won hangar at the start and half their team quit. Then we did the routine, by the time the gate was dropped they had a full team. They turtled and that’s when things turned. Over half the team just kept trying to charge through the gate and it was basically a meat grinder.
If the team you were up against was a premade that’s pretty crazy they couldn’t figure out a solution.
You can easily check my profile win loss rates and see that I’m not. Don’t insult my intelligence. You seem new here. Snowcrusty is a comp stomp bot. Sync premaders should have their accounts permad, anyway have a good day " this wolf has teeth" don’t forget to leave your furry costume at the door.
Sounds like a good match with good teamwork. There needs to be more of that. The ones that left might have done yall a favor by getting some good backfills. Good job keeping it together. Yall deserved the win!
