As soon as you get to the Dragon Isles, locate your skinning trainer up in the first area you reach, and update your skinning.
One of the very first quests is to kill a bunch of drakes and there will be dead drake bodies everywhere - its an absolute feast of leather collecting.
Also, race change to worgen for faster skinning.
Or just use the Darkmoon drink?
