@OP I am considering to join but I was wondering if you could share your opinion why loot council is better than dkp?
Thank you for considering joining us for classic wow. This is a good question so let me try to answer it the best I can. We were considering running dkp for a long time but we decided to run loot council for a few main reasons. First of all, if we decided to run dkp, there are a number of items that we were going to whitelist in order to make sure they got to the appropriate players (tank items, certain tiers, legendary items, etc). An example of this would be having 3 players of a class with 1 piece t1 instead of 1 of a class with 3 piece bonus. At the end of the day we were looking at a combination of loot council and dkp, and thought to ourselves that it would be too much of a headache to clarify exactly what items are going to be whitelisted and who was going to get those items first. We decided to run with loot council because it would speed up the time and eliminate the frustration of sorting all of this out, and also helps with avoiding point saving to dump into an item someone wants.
The loot council we will be using will be completely transparent, and we are open to discuss anything with our raiders in terms of loot. The GM (myself), our raid leader, officers, and class leads will have their input on any important loot decisions. Factors such as attendance, performance, and how big of an upgrade the item is will be considered when making a decision. Exactly, so long as itâs not corrupted. Loot Council just works better long term, in the short term t1 has limited viable gear so most items will just be for looks/DEâed. Since weâre set for hardcore this is really the best option anyways.
DKP is better for more casual raiding since it will probably have raiders in and out each raid(not necessarily leaving the guild). Of course it still will have problems but what doesnât?
