From the skyline flies in a darkened crow down toward your position, with it, a parchment emanating with magical hues could be seen clasped in the beak of the bird. The creature would land before you, offering a slight bow of its beak as the item it held within its grasp is dropped to your feet. If you were to break the arcane seal of this letter, a small flash of light and energy would erupt outward into a vision you may only see. Faded images of hooded figures illuminated by dim candlelight would turn their heads toward you. Before you may be able to distinguish who these individuals are, a small breeze would blow past, dragging the image in front of you into the wind – causing it to dissipate completely. At this point ink begins to seep into the paper first forming letters and then words, letting the reason behind this unusual missive be known.
"The time has come upon us for our Reformation. You, bearer of this letter, have been called upon. There are powers to be uncovered, magics to seek out, and journeys to take. The Order will no longer be splintered across the winds, and if you accept you will be added as a catalyst to our flame.

• Who we are OOC:
The Magelight Society is a guild with a bit of a history. While we were once started on Retail, we had reformed the guild on Classic after being idle for a few years. After growing our numbers, and diving into our magical campaigns we decided as a group that Retail continued to offer more RP opportunities. Therefore, as a result the guild is coming back to its original home, along with many of its members in tow.
More specifically, we are a rather diverse group of people! We range from long-time RP veterans to those just now branching into the RP community. One thing is for sure though, all our members have a passion for roleplaying, and the sense of community as a whole. We want those who join up to feel comfortable playing with us in all aspects of the game - whether that be joking around in guild chat, running mythics, or of course RP!
• Our Theme:
Together we make up a group of wanderers – those that have a yearning for that which is unknown. Through travel and expeditions, we recover the relics of time’s past; ones that have been lost with their powers forgotten to the world. We seek out magical anomalies – the strange, the dangerous, and the unseen. We venture out and collect these for study and safekeeping, perhaps liking to hoard a bit too many secrets to ourselves. Our thirst for knowledge has led us down many precarious pathways, and we would have it no other way.
• What we offer:
We typically have one major storyline event weekly. These are larger RP events that usually end up having multiple parts before we wrap up the campaign. On top of this, we have more casual RP events dotted around in the week - including little tavern hangs - and other OOC events to take part in. We have terrible transmog contests, pet and gold giveaways, and as of recently we are starting to implement personalized events for RP. These personalized events give our members the option to flesh out their own backstories/storylines while still being able to RP with their guildy friends! After all, why should your character’s backstory be lost in the grand scheme of things? There is much more information about this on our guild discord!
• How to join:
We require all potential members to fill out a short application either on our discord (link at the bottom), or privately with an officer. This involves a very brief bio of your character, as well as some general information about them. Once completed, an officer will review your application, and notify you if approved. Your character may then join up with us IC!
Due to the reclusive nature of Magelight, we do not host our IC joining out in the public, nor do we recruit openly. The IC recruitment will be initiated via a letter-bearing crow. He is a good pecky boy, and will only beg you for treats once… or twice.
• Who may join:
We have no race, class, level, or RP experience restrictions. By all means, you do not have to be a magic user to join as we have an entire branch of our order that is NOT magically oriented. Although we aim to keep our member number relatively small, we typically only turn down those characters that would simply not be a good fit for the theme of the guild, and we are very open with different character ideas – by all means, your character won’t have to struggle to fit into a mold.
We are also open to alliances with other guilds! We would eventually like to branch into cross-guild events, so if this is something of interest please feel free to get in contact with the GM directly, info will be placed at the bottom of this post!
