[A-RP] <Circle of the Unspoken> (Small-scale tabletop RPG-inspired guild!)

“The Circle of the Unspoken is a small company of contract adventurers and monster hunters who travel Azeroth, Outland and beyond together. We will face cultists, magical anomalies, demons, the undead and strange mysteries. Through our jobs and deeds, we will make a name for ourselves out in the world and coin too. So long as you have useful skills, able to work cooperatively with others and aren’t completely evil, you may be considered for this band of explorers!”

The Circle of the Unbroken is a new small guild that intends to do a few things.

  1. Allow for a small, active and creative environment where people can attend and host their own events and form IC relationships and stories with their fellow guildmates.
  2. Try and make sure every character feels different (even between a main character and their alts) through a combat system that involves a selection of abilities you select for each toon as well as a simple attribute system that allows characters to shine in what they are best at.
  3. To create an OOC environment where the players are interested in making friends through RP and telling qualities stories with their fellow RPers. To create an environment where people are free to and encouraged to find story or casual RP within the guild, especially if Stormwind is quiet that day.

Why should you join us? You should apply if you are over the age of 18 and an experienced, lore-abiding RPer who wants a small, active adventure “dungeon-crawler”-inspired guild where you are free to storytell with other RP-enthusiastic players. Whether you are a paladin, fel-flinger, sentinel, death knight, thief, brewmaster or a blood mage, the Circle of the Unspoken seeks new members.

This is a guild built to be small and active. Think of this kind of like playing a tabletop game with a group, though with each member a storyteller with the option and encouragement to run events of their own once passed by an officer. We seek to maintain a handful of high quality, friendly, active players to help keep this small guild as active as one larger, though with the emphasis on each player having the potential to not feel like a ‘side character’ lost among the numbers. We use a /roll system with selected spells to use in combat and character traits for outside of combat that both intend to serve the purpose of helping each character (mains and alts alike) to be different from one another in play.

We are currently only accepting main characters who are over level 100! Alts are not held by this rule.

Circle of the Unspoken will currently only have 10 players at a time. Since we are currently capping out player membership at so few people (the GM included), we have a specific idea of what we are looking for;

•Quality storytellers.
We would like to be comprised of quality, experienced roleplayers who are capable of creating their own fun as well as participating in things others have created. This means we would like for you to be able to occasionally start stories or help drive others as well. Do not go to events always planning on just going with the flow. Be creative and help drive it sometimes. This is more fun for everyone.
No main should be ‘a side character’ to supposed ‘main-main characters.’
We are serious about quality RP and hope to encourage a creative environment that bends lore but does not break it.

•Dungeon Masters.
While it is not required, we are looking primarily for people interested in running their own events (adventure and social both!). This helps keep a variety of DMs and DM styles as well helps allow DMs to spread out their events without causing large lulls as to prevent anyone from burning out too quick.

•Character depth.
Your main character should have a thought out backstory, a set personality and more than one dimension. Please do not apply on a character you just thought up today. We prefer for your character to have already had a history prior to this guild.
We ask that if you join that you are open to constructive criticism from anyone in the guild, and understand that everyone else in the guild has made the same promise.
We also ask that your character has the ability to be serious. While we look to have both comedic and dramatic elements, we are not looking for characters who are unable to have a serious side. That said, having a comedic side is loved so long as they exist beyond to be comic relief.

•IC Diversity.
We are looking for a diversity of main characters within the guild. Ultimately, the guild should have a variety of character types within it. That unfortunately means if there is a noticeable overabundance of your main’s character type, that may lead to a rejection of the application for the sake of keeping race/class/character type diversity. With such low numbers, it’s easy to accidentally become (for example) a pandaren guild or a mage guild. No such loose restriction exists for alts, however.

•Active roleplayers.
Since we intend to keep low numbers, we will only be looking for players who can generally attend events regularly. We would like for players to be able to be active in the guild and its storylines, though we will not ask for you to attend every event (even if you are online) nor to abstain from participating in other guilds on your alts nor doing things with non-guildies. However, you should join this guild knowing you are expected to be active (preferably at the very least once a week or once every other week).
After an unannounced or extended absence from RP, we may look to fill your vacant slot. If this happens, you can still contact a GM to rejoin even if all slots are full so long as you are able to be active again. We will never ask people to be online daily or even every-other daily, but understand that being active is important in a guild this size.

•Friendly roleplayers.
Since we will have so few members, we will be looking only for respectful, friendly roleplayers who are receptive to making friends OOC as well. It’s perfectly okay if you’re shy, though we are looking to create an amiable environment where people can joke, talk and get to know each other in guild chat and discord.

Calendar events will begin at either 5, 6 or 7 unless on the weekend, in which case this restriction is looser. However, feel free to roleplay with your fellow guildies at any time, of course. Guild events will have a general cap of three hours per event (unless it’s a casual social event where people can naturally come and go at will). Because of this, two-parters/multiple-day events are useful! If you’re not quite done RPing after this, you are encouraged to do some side-RP with the remaining online guildies!

We use a simplified DnD-inspired system. While the rolls and emotes are freeform outside of combat (unless stated otherwise by the DM), in combat the players and the DM take turns emoting and rolling their actions. Players can do more than simply attack and can use a variety of spells they selected for that toon! There is a simple system where players fill out a character sheet in accordance to what they’re good at for actions outside of combat. This will increase their rolling capabilities in that area and keep characters different in play. A more detailed explanation can be found on our shivtr.

This guild will ICly and OOCly be less hierarchy based. While the GM is responsible for adapting/enforcing the rules, we would very much like for this guild to be socially equal. A member should be able to run an event or help lead one IC. A GM or an officer should be able to attend an event where they have no clue what’s going to happen and be led by others IC from time to time.

If this resonates with you, please continue to our shivtr where you can find the rules and guidelines and event system all on the front page!

As I am unable to post links yet, you can find our site circleoftheunspoken through a shivtr address! Sorry for the inconvenience!

If you are interested in joining, send an application our way! We look forward from hearing from you! If you have any questions, feel free to let me know in-game!

Have a free bump. This looks like a particularly delightful cup of tea.

Within the past two weeks, we have established ourselves a (possibly temporary) company hub, went on three contracts and took a short leave to Gadgetzan! We’re currently looking for more people!

Starting up our first planned multi-event guild story arch this week!

Currently actively looking for new members to join the Unspoken!
