Yeah, People wanting to tank at all is an issue… That’s why creating “new” tanks was their idea.
A lot of people were going for warlock tanks originally… then found out it was “hard” so they either quit SOD, or quit warlocks in general.
Then the people who wanted to play rogue tanks (which was way lower than warlock tanks). Found out the same… And the ones who did work REALLY hard to unlock the rogue tank… found out it was god awful. (this is just what I heard, not from my experience).
But, like I was saying… There are SOOO Many hunters. They are the most played class in all of wow. And to have them have a real tank spec… Would make even a few curious people play it. This would in hopes make us all have a good NEW tank!
That’s why I’m trying to post this… I’m not sure why so many are against this idea… It sounds so awesome tom me. I really hope someone who needs to, actually looks at this and since we are in SoD and the whole purpose is to “see what we can do!” I would love if they just give this a try! Ya know?
It would require the most skill out of all of the tank classes. Having to worry about your pet position as well as your own. It’s already a really fun and engaging thing to do with no specific builds that fully complement it.
I’m not against the idea of a hunter tank - I’m actually super for the idea of adding new tank specs.
I’m pushing back against your confusing fixation on removing other tank specs that already exist in order to support this one. Just add the tank spec to hunters. Don’t remove it from rogues or warlocks.
I’m also good with that. One of the main complaints I hear is “Well there are already rogue and warlock tanks” so it was just the suggestion to replace one with another.
I’m very pro adding just one more tank spec in hopes to remove the LFM Tank spam!

I don’t think it would require that much skill at all.
The hunter pet already has a taunt currently. If the hunter ran in first, and positioned the boss, then the hunter’s pet taunting off him would just turn the boss if anything.
They made pets focus the back of mobs in retail, I believe they could make it so hunter tank pets could always go to “their front” or something in that regard. But that might not even be necessary.
