I am unsure what to do on this one. I am wearing the two rings OCCLUSION OF VOID & of LIGHT. They give me a set bonus of “unleash twilight barrage, inflicting 7685 twilight damage split.” I have a PLATINUM STARBAND RING that would give me +147 stamina, +8 crit, +104 mastery and -82 haste. I am sure the Starband would be better, breaking up the set, but wanted to ask for any thoughts on this. Thanks.
I’d say ilvl > stats, but the set bonus isn’t bad, it’s like .6% of my damage in keys. If you operate under the assumption a 1 ilvl increase is a ~1% damage amp, then there’s 15 gear slots for ret, so you’d need 15 ilvls on one piece to get 1% more damage. Or ~8 ilvls for a .6% damage increase to offset the lost set bonus
However, some gear slots provide more dmg per ilvl than others (weapons and trinkets are over budget, cloaks and wrists are under), so you’d have to factor that in as well.
For simplicity, I’d say aim for breaking the set if the replacement (or replacements if you swap both rings) grants a total of 9 more ilvls to the amount you currently have split between the two slots
