Berserk.
Read it.
Berserk.
Read it.
Do NOT watch this if you do not want to be be balling your eyes out and freaked out at the same time. I went into that anime thinking it would be something entirely different given the art style. Hoooooooooboy! Was I wrong. Itâs on Evangelion level of insanity.
omg forgot⊠watched on adult swim in the 2000s
The anime I liked on Adult Swim were the ones like FLCL and Paranoia Agent, the trippy weird ones.
I also liked early Inu Yasha too, particularly when it was done in the old art style and had the ambient horror music to compliment climactic moments.
I donât watch anime too much these days but I just saw on Disney + they have the one about an MMO player who maxes out her defense stats and becomes an unkillable tank. Itâs literally called âIf I max out my defense I canât get hurtâ or some ish but I think itâs a cute watch. I like the ones that take place in virtual reality. Like .hack or .hack GU.
Thereâs a few way older ones that I would never recommend, like Barefoot Gen which is really messed up.
Sailor Moon, One Piece. Transformers, Berserk, Macross, Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell, Akira, Slam Dunk.
Maybe just stick to what has been proven to work while you put your feelers out there.
edit: I just realized this is probably a troll thread about xxx anime
Hehe yeah it gets you until you hit the âoh noâ episode threshold lol
aka
Subarashii
Oh this reminds me, another one I saw a few episodes of (and a movie) was xXxholic, a fun watch
Way before anime was a thing there used to be romance novels called Harlequin Romance. They were all alike with different names for the characters, different locations, etc⊠but it was the same story over and over with the same outcome every time.
Fast forward to the 1990s/2000s and you have Grisham novels. All are good but aside from a few at the beginning, they all start to sound very similar.
Itâs the formula of successful serial writing. Itâs everywhere. Books, movies, anime, tv, etcâŠ
You like them until you donât.
Til then, you pay for it and they make money and thatâs what it really comes down to.
Oh I get it.
I watched anime on my 3d goggles once and when I took them off, I had karateâd the living hell out of my house. I needed to buy a new fridge.
Iâm still trying to understand how Look Back and Chainsaw Man were given anime adaptations before Fire Punch.
It sounds like the anime youâre checking out share a lot of the same tropes. Many of them are low effort Light Novel adaptations.
Iâve found original anime stories and Manga adaptations are better and more original.
very funny; would recommend
super common isekai theme
solid list.
Iâd add Death Note, Code Geass, AoT, Hataraku Maou-Sama.
I also forgot Jojos Bizarre Adventure for my list
The list could go on but here are a few I really enjoyed watching:
-Bleach
-Soul Eater
-Jujutsu Kaisen
-Hellsing
-Kaiju No.8
-Witchblade
-Berserk of Gluttony
-Sengoku Youko
Really? Not a single suggestion for Slayers? On these forums?
Iâm disappointed in all of you.

That was a good one. If we are going way back, I would add Fist of the North Star and Sailor Moon.
I wonât lie and say a lot of anime doesnât have what you are describing, because it does.
But maybe stay away from the harem/isekai stuff.
Maybe fantasy is more your thing, Record of Lodoss War, Guin Saga, Vinland Saga, Blade of the Immortal, Berserk, Delicious in Dungeon, Frieren, Heroic Legend of Arslan, Record of Grancrest War, Hells Paradise, Slayers, Kingdom, Samurai Champloo, Fullmetal Alchemist
Maybe sci-fi is your thing.
Space Dandy, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Legend of the Galatic Heroes, Mobile Suit Gundam
Maybe psychological/philosophical stuff is more you.
Ergo Proxy, Serial Experiments Lain, Steins:Gate, Ghost in the Shell, Appleseed
Or maybe you want slice of life/comedy?
Daily Lives of Highschool boys, nichijou, miss kobayashiâs dragon maid, Hinamatsuri, Heâs sakamoto havenât you heard?
Or maybe you want all of that.
Gintama
Iâm old.
I love robots. and I love robots because of Force Five.
and transformers.
and R2-D2.
Sadly true.
My roommate in college was obsessed with these imaginary girls. Being a tall rich guy like Rodger Smith from the Big O
Captain Harlock was another. Anything Gundam, Evangelion, and Robotech
He flew to Japan thinking he could fulfill whatever he thought he have or the attention he so desired only to be met with the realization it was not what we expected at all.
Heâs still single.
