A Non-RP'er's Intro to MoonGuard

However how is the pvp on rp servers? Specifically the wpvp. Being from ED there is some wpvp but not much. Not a lot of dueling outside major cities such as Orgrimmer as I expected in comparison to servers like Boulderdist back in Wotlk/BC people would be outside dueling for hours all day… Dueling used to be one of my favorite things to do… I just don’t find a lot of people to duel anymore. However on the contrary, Emerald dream / a lot of the RP servers have very active auction houses/ mythic/raid/Pve community and a decent population. But I have yet to find an Rp server I prefer that is active and has an active dueling area.

I am not sure why people say RP realms do not shard. Maybe Moon Guard doesn’t cause it’s so big but I play on little dead Earthen Ring and I regularly get thrown into shards with other RP realms like Argent Dawn.

Grab a RP addon like xRP, Total Roleplay 3, or MyRoleplay. Only one is necessary. You can fill out a profile, put inbthe vow of silence, set yourself OOC, and occasionally enjoy reading what RPers have written.

Edit: I believe all three RP addons have a report function as they were all updated by the same 2-3 people working as a team.

So I made a void elf on Moon Gaurd and ran her around for most of the afternoon, seems mostly like any other realm so far, I did go check out the Inn, other than the fact that it is packed I saw nothing weird. There does seem to be more chatter on trade, thats kinda nice, makes the world seem more alive. I will continue this adventure

I can also attest that Moon Guard on the horde side is equally as friendly, though RP is a bit rarer due to our significantly smaller population. I’ve met a ton of extremely kind people here, and it’s definitely worth giving us a try.

Once again, using RP-friendly names and being respectful to RP’ers is part of doing your part by rolling on an RP server!

In current content, or in old content? Current content zones shard with other RP servers; old content didn’t shard last I checked. Note that people from other servers can still get into the shards by grouping, and occasionally a server will get so full that it overflows into other servers’ shards.

Well I go into the inn in Darkshire and there are Argent Dawn people Roleplaying there. I am guessing Duskwood qualifies as old content.

I rather enjoy RP servers. The players are overall stranger but in a nice way, like a crazy grandma.

I would assume Duskwood is old content, though there is a current expansion quest in that area. However, people often group for roleplaying, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see some cross server groups.

I also see people from WrA and Argent Dawn farming rares in our old zones. Now that is not to say they couldn’t have joined a group and hopped over. But it is disproportionately people from only RP realms and even more so specific ones.

Horde RP you’ll find more in WrA. MG is a cool server once you get past the inn, I don’t RP either but it’s nice to see people in stormwind or the forest just walking around or doing their own story while you just play the game.

Felwood is actually pretty popular as well. Every time I level through there I see groups doing what they do.

I dabbled on MG for a short time once, it is an interesting place. There is a fair bit of kink if you go looking for it, but also plenty of non-ERP too. I once watched a group out in Eversong doing a whole thing around researching the Dead Scar and talking about fixing it and such. It was pretty creative and cool.

Oh and people like to chat on the LookingForGroup channel on MG. I still dunno how that started but it’s a thing.

Chatting in /1 was seen as broadcasting too much and /2 is …trolled.

/3 is/was City Defense which could get spammed by Horde if they got near so everyone started talking and being nice etc in /4 since it wasn’t 1-3.

Apparently they’re active enough to draw salt:

LAWL. Omg, that actually made me laugh out loud. That is awesome.

Gassavia, I have rolled a goblin on WA, and she is enjoying the Orgimmar economy there tremendously. Having started from zero, my Loolie is now well on her way to 1k gold at level 20 (love those goblins, man), and she is gonna start dungeon healing.

I haven’t seen much interaction or any RP on WA yet (except for a very gentlemanlike-looking “duel” that wasn’t a duel between an orc and a Belf, but they were communicating in tells rather than publicly, I think). I figure I’ve only been there one day, so I’ll give it more time.

Okay, where are you looking for RP. Rachet has a group of players that RP over drinks in the inn. Silvermoon for obvious reasons is a female Belf RP environment as well, but the conversations I’ve heard are a bit shallow in comparison.

There was at one time a Horde community group for RPing but I’ve lost the link for it. It might be advertised in /1 in Origgimar.

Oh, I didn’t have much time. I wasn’t looking specifically. I will play some more tonight after I’m done on my main for the day. Thanks! I will be heading to the Barrens for questing, so I’ll check Ratchet and hang out for a drink there.

I usually take a break in the Rachet Inn during the evenings so if you see me there, say hi. I’m on the Eastern Time zone (New York/Toronto).
