OOC- The Host of Acherus is a newly forming death knight centered roleplaying guild on Wymrest Accord - US. Lore abiding and creatively amibitous, this guild seeks to foster a community of players that work together to build large scale immersive story lines set within the world of Azeroth. Boasting a custom progression system and d20 styled RP scenarios, this guild promises compelling interactions with like-minded players.

Premise- With the Burning Legion finding its ultimate defeat at Antorus, the Burning Throne, the Deathlord has taken an extended leave of absence, leaving a gap of structure within Acherus. The Ebon Hold, now without leadership has elected a newly returning Knight, Jonathan Wraithcaller, to the position of The Deathlord’s Wrath, an enforcer of His will and arbiter for peace among the splintered Knights of the Ebon Blade. The Host of Acherus seeks to re-secure its position within the Horde, Alliance, and reinforce its hold over the glacial tundras of Icecrown; where The Shadow Vault reports increased unrest among the endless Scourge, and the zealous loyalists of the Banshee Queen. Acherus will answer the call to action, to act as Azeroth’s unlikeliest dark protectors.

Requirements-

  • Be over the age of 18.
  • Play a Death Knight or other Ebon Blade affiliated undead class.
  • Be respectful toward all other players, open to learning, and willing to attend guild events where permissible.
  • Keep 18+ RP/ERP in private, respectful channels where minors and the non-consenting cannot happen upon it. (We are undead though… so uh, keep that in mind.)

Weekly / Bi-Weekly Events-

  • (The Dread Pit) is a bi-weekly event where Acherus opens its dark halls to the champions of Azeroth to face off in armed combat against the necropolis’ warriors. This is a custom d20 player-versus-player combat event, fully open to the community.

Last of all, on behalf of The Host of Acherus we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the warm reception our guild has received from the community already. We look forward to creating alongside the rest of Wyrmrest Accord going into 8.3 and Shadowlands, where we already have several working stories planned for those who wish to participate.

I would also like to take this time to mention the community death knight Discord server that we have been working on, it is called The Meat Wagon. It is a way for death knight roleplayers to stay in touch and participate in guild events with us, even if your other interests in the game prevent you from actively joining The Host of Acherus.

Out of curiosity, what is the in-character perception of the Lich King Bolvar among the death knights of your guild?

Uneasy partnership? Source of power to be harnessed? Perhaps even someone to look up to, as jailer of the damned?

The Lich King is viewed by our guild the way that he is canonically viewed by The Knights of the Ebon Blade during the Legion order hall campaign; a grim necessity. Mind you, few (if any) of us know that he is in fact Bolvar Fordragon. He’s understood to be the most powerful of the death knights, but we owe our allegiance to The Ebon Hold and The Deathlord only.

Out of interest, where does Highlord Mograine come into it? He still seems to hold strong importance in the Ebon Blade.

Highlord Darion Mograine is a pivotal character within the warcraft mythos, therefore he is of utmost importance to us. However, we see him step down during Legion as the de-facto leader of The Ebon Blade, to instead lead The Four Horsemen. With the current in-game lore we accept him as a leader for death knights, but not the leader of death knights. Our stance on death knight leadership will evolve as the in-game lore does.

’The Host of Acherus’ is highly interested in Death Knights and Ebon Blade affiliates that are mains! We are looking to build a solid foundation of mature roleplayers that truly understand the concepts of darker military-styled events. We also would love to get your feet soaked in plague-bits on your alts to see if this could be an experience worth your time!

The Host will be delivering a truly unique Dicemaster system for our RP Scenarios and Campaigns. If you’re looking for real depth in and out of combat, you need not look further.

We take our story characters very seriously and the Host is armed to the teeth with versatile guild-NPCs that can be roleplayed with and deliver rewards and quests for Knights/Affiliates alike.

When such an isolated faction such as the Ebon Blade is roleplayed, it can be easy to feel secluded or stuck at an impasse when choosing the right guild for your character(s). Not to worry – the community has come together in the form of “The Meat Wagon” to ensure that there are community events. Look out for the Meat Wagon coming online in the coming weeks!

Our guild concept allows those who are of different guilds or prefer to stay unguilded to roleplay with us whenever; we are open to folks joining-in on our RP Scenarios – however, this may not always be the case for our campaigns. The Meat Wagon will have its first campaign in the coming months.

LAST NIGHT WITH THE HOST OF ACHERUS

A handful of Knights and the newly appointed Wrath are summoned to Zul’Drak to oversee the restoration and upkeep of Ebon Watch, the first Forward Death Camp that the necropolis is reestablishing on the icy continent of Northrend. These Knights met with Stephan Vadu, a veteran Knight of the Ebon Blade, to learn how they could help. Vadu informed these Knights that the necrotic flesh used to keep the geists and ghouls in check was running low, and that their nearly out of commission Meat Wagon was in disrepair.

With the Wrath having deemed “No hands being too high to dismiss the work Acherus needs done.” these death knights set to their grim task. After several close calls and the grisly end of a formidable vargul warrior, the Host of Acherus succeeded in their mission and further strengthened Acherus’ hold of the north.

This was the first of many such events that THoA will be running in the future. These scenarios are titled ‘Forward Death Camps’, and act as a buffer for the guild’s greater storylines in order to promote group cohesion, and player progression!

We are looking to recruit veteran Dungeon Masters for Officer roles within the guild! This would mean we need an active main (Ebon Blade affiliated) who is enthusiastic and competent with Death Knight lore, event construction and dice mechanics (D20)! We have a very unique system called “Traitforge” that introduces a new layer of depth and complexity within the realms of roleplay. Contact “Briff” or “Jon” in-game for more details.

This looks like a very cool idea! Though Maesh here is no longer affiliated with those dirty Ebon lapdogs the, uh Glorious Ebon Blade, I am eager to see where this goes.

Another successful event with ‘The Host of Acherus’ this evening! We attempted to ascend the Lich King’s Frozen Gauntlet, but one by one…we all failed. Super fun nonetheless!

The Frozen Gauntlet…an old tool used by Arthas to test the Host of Suffering. Carved deep within the hills of Icecrown, this razor-iced trench is filled with biting-cold minions of death, littered with traps within its howling fog. Bolvar has seized this “Frozen Gauntlet” and issues it as a challenge to the Knights of Acherus. Will you step up and face down your icy tomb?

I’ve been to a few of their events. Most fun I’ve had RPing with other DKs since I joined this server back in MoP.
