I wish the game was a lot more darker and taken more seriously. I also would like to see it grim and gritty. I made an edit because the thread started getting taken the wrong way. Let’s get this thread going, so we can see more of this in further expansions. Okay so, I’m reading more of the posts that are here and I just want to say, from my own POV, visually more dark and grim. A good example of what I’m a fan of is the Emerald Nightmare and Argus in legion, Drustvar and Nazmir in Battle for Azeroth, Dread Wastes in Pandaria, and Azj-Khajet in The War Within with a lot Outland mixed in. If there was a mix of all these zones put into a continent and becomes an expansion of it’s own, I would play the crap out of it.
We have plenty of creeps in WoW.
I don’t care if it’s dark or gritty.
I just want less voice actors screeching unfunny puns in my ear. I get enough of that from Boarderlands.
Just set hearthstone in Goldshire if you want this.
Not this again
Excuse you, but this game is loosing it’s edge and you’re whining about it being “This again?”
This exact topic was debated in multiple threads for hundreds of posts approximately three weeks ago
Clearly the forums need a new content patch.
Ooooh, three weeks ago.
It’s cute how you think it had nothing but edge to begin with.
What do you want to see? Like, elaborate. Is Xal’atath imploding Dalaran and killing hundreds (thousands?) of people not dark enough? Or Azj-Kahet and the Nerubians? Or a goblin being vaporized in a cutscene?
I feel like a lot of you that want things to be darker are looking for Dark Souls levels of hopelessness, but WoW (even in the RTS days) isn’t that.
I want to see a much darker side to the void. I want how scary they can really be and how massive they can really get. All. Dramatized.
Wrong setting, this is heroic fantasy. Things don’t ever get too dark and then the heroes win and everything is fine again no questions asked.
Go find a different game if you want it oh so dark and gritty and whatever other buzzword.
The expansion isn’t over yet, so you might just get that. Also this is the first act in a 3 part story. So you might have to wait a bit, but I would assume the stakes will get higher as it goes through the stages of story development. There is adventure to be had in Azeroth and learning about new people (dracthyr and earthen in DF and TTW respectively) but there is also dark moments if you’re paying attention.
Oh, I’ll have to keep and eye out. Thank you.
No, the players themselves make up for that more and more every year.
The last time we got a creepy zone it was Drustvar. And look at its color palette, dark tones, no super bright colors, no super bright skybox etc.
I wish we got more of that
Zones nowadays are so oversaturated and over done. Just bright and colorful like a cartoon.
What “edge”?
We murder on command and steal their belongings. How much more edgy and creepy do you want? Or is this just one of those “make the color palette more like darksouls with more skulls”
read berserk anime instead.
