That would be awesome
I actually like how Bellular finally corrected himself and instead of saying “WoW lost 50% of its playerbase” he said “WoW lost 50% of its endgame activity level”.
Well, I wouldn’t assume it’s as black and white as that and asking for a single person to represent “the general population” is just going to be met with: “what proof do you have?”
We are not stupid. We can draw our conclusion based upon the state of the game and how the game feels from a community stand point.
The game is losing players more than its gaining them. Content creators are leaving and taking their following with them for the most part.
This also kind of feeds into the same thing people are arguing about in this forum; just in the opposite direction. When a person does not think the game is worth their time anymore they leave/unsub. So we are left with a community of people who are still paying for a sub and think its worth the $15 a month. To sum it up, you are eventually going to be left with people who are paying for the game and their opinions, which is biased because the opposing opinion has left.
This also creates a self destructive stat of the game, because you have the players currently saying everything is fine and the other are whiners. That is until, the game is no longer viewed as worth while for that player and unsubs. Leading to a inevitable complete death of a community.
Wild concept, I know.
Please stop with the ageism.
I see you enjoy making up numbers like your hero Bellular.
My point is that the game is not restricting people from doing content, and the examples you provide, will have little to no impact for most people competing 10-15 keys or heroic raid.
I can see where it might potentially impact those that want to push high keys and mythic raiding… but is that literally stopping hundreds of thousands of people from completing content?
Laughable.
Even so, given these are likely elite players, the extra 1-2-3% is not really a wall for them. So really… how many people?
Like I said earlier, enjoy the game for what it is… if you hate it so much or have that level of frustration, or only enjoy parroting Bellular, then don’t play it.
No, they understand quite well. But it’s not that they disagree with the playerbase. Most of them agree. But they are tied up because numbers and money runs everything.
I don’t understand how this is a difficult concept. Ever since Activision purchased Blizzard, EVERYTHING that they have put out, we have complained about, then they tell us that their ‘stats don’t reflect’ it. Then they bleed subs and players. Then they do what we asked for 10 months before, and act like they did something that we wanted: “Why are you upset? We listened and did what you asked?”
This is just dictated by people who only care about numbers and profit, and it will never change until Blizz just stops signing on the dotted line.
He’s not my “hero”, but if that gives you a false sense of superiority, I will, while laughing, compliment you on your elevated position in this conversation.
… Yes, it absolutely is. At the very least, it makes people feel bad for doing it. A player has to decide which area of content is the most important, and will be gimp in the other areas of content. This is bad design.
The game had, if I remember correctly, about 6 million players at SL launch. That number has dropped significantly. Would I make the argument that a bad core system to the expansion has negatively impacted “hundreds of thousands of players”? Absolutely.
If you fail to grasp this, it’s an issue of you extrapolating data. I’m not fudging numbers. You’re incapable of analysis.
This is not a situation shared only by the elite. Stop being willfully ignorant. It’s boring.
This is the worst take I’ve ever seen. “Blindly love whatever blizzard throws on your plate, regardless of its quality.” I like the game enough to want it to be better and to do away with this terrible systems design.
If you’re going to love whatever blizzard hands you, then why do you bother engaging in these conversations? After all, you’d love the changes that I’m advocating for because you’ll blindly love anything.
Logic.
This I agree with.
Blizzard needs to find a better way to balance the creation of engaging content and player metric targets.
They seem to be approaching it from a “here are the metrics I want to meet, go create that content”… rather than “here is some cool content, that by the way, will get you some great metrics”.
May seem subtle, but it is a different philosophical approach.
My belief is if they created the game for the love and fun of it - the metrics be damned - then the metrics would follow anyway. Instead of trying to artificially up those numbers, the numbers would organically go up because the content is engaging / engrossing.
No one is stating the game is perfect.
I am stating the game works regardless of what choices you are forced to make, allowing you to complete content… thinking anything otherwise is just plain ignorant.
The fact you cannot take a step back and understand that is really the end of this discussion.
And yes, if you hate the game play so much then why continue to play?
Playing a game you are so obviously frustrated with and toxic about is, quite frankly, the worst take I have ever seen.
Please provide a single quote of me being toxic, hell, me even being frustrated. If I’m frustrated about anything, it’s your multiple failures in logic.
The game isn’t so black and white as “can I complete content or not?”
There’s much, much more to it than that. I’d take the time to explain, but after the many efforts I’ve already made, I’ve unfortunately come to the conclusion that there’s simply no point in making the effort.
No, the fact that you’re willfully refusing to concede that the current covenant system has negatively impacted a significant portion of the player base is the end of the conversation. This is simply a fact, and it’s ridiculous that you’re side-stepping the point by adding irrelevant contingencies such as “being able to complete content”.
Please provide a quote of me saying I hate the game. Good luck.
I’ve in no way indicated I hate the game. I’ve indicated that the covenant system has been bad for a year and it’s being drastically improved in 9.1.5. This is simply how your mind works. You see someone complain about a particular element of the game and you take that to mean the person is toxic, hates the game, and is unworthy of conversation. You use bad logic to arrive at a bad conclusion and then ironically use this conclusion to state that a conversation is over (the conversation is indeed over, but you are humorously unaware that it’s by your own doing).
Going forward, take words at face value. If someone says “a system is bad”, it means “a system is bad”. It does not mean “I hate the game”. If someone takes the time to illustrate for you why the system is bad, make a semblance of an attempt to understand that your gameplay experience is not the same as shared by many, many other players.
All the best.
I can tell you if this was the case, Bellular would’ve never made this video in the first place, asmon wouldn’t have gone to FFXIV, and Stoopz wouldn’t have quit the game.
That’s exactly how it is!
Shill only blame everyone but their brand overlord, Bellular, Asmon and Stoopz doesn’t even need click bait to make money when most of their video already pull in enough view for it.
