Flame Orb maybe. Idk, I have no real attachment to the old one, but if they could make it work then sure.

I’m sure they could. Instead of AoE like Frost Orb, the orb directly attacks one or two enemies directly. Then explodes.

Ring of Fire looks cool, but making enemies touch the edges of the ring for damage just sounds miserable.

If enemies are caught inside the ring WITHOUT touching the edges, they could suffer from the surrounding flame.

The Phoenix is already tied to Sunfury, and I think it’s great.

Make it a permanent pet. Arcane and Frost Mage have a permanent pet (Arcane Familiar and Water Elemental respectively). Why not Fire Mage?
