because he is part of the story of talanjis rise to be queen of the zandalari?
he has been setup since the beginning to fall and let his daughter take over.
You keep repeating yourself.
Rastakhan was about as kingly as the lowliest peasant from Elwynn.
Feel free to take your revenge.
Really? I didn’t know the people in Elwynn made houses out of gold.
Take the shiny Bronzebeard. He has been hugging trees and droning on about God knows what for too long now.
Edit: heh. Would have made more sennse on my alliance guy. Sorry.
He wasn’t actually “one of yours” at the time we ganked him, that was the whole point. They haven’t joined the Horde yet.
Is that a better definition?
Main character? Yeah he got name-dropped a lot, but he was around for a single raid tier before getting stomped.
If you’re looking for an alliance equivalent of that… Cenarius maybe? Idk.
We’ll consider it payment for Sylvanas and the horde turning tail and leaving the alliance to die on the broken shore because Vol’jin got a booboo. Or from the entire lack of help with the legion in the last 2-3 raids as there were no horde leaders present, I’m assuming while they were gathering timber to burn our tree while we took care of the world ending threats lol.
Take your pick, that king was bought and paid for a good while ago lol.

He was the main character of the Zandalari story and got multiple cinematics with him as the main protagonist in them.

Confirmed: Liadrin is no longer Horde.
She’s basically your guy’s Tirion to be fair lol.
At least she’s breathing.

Being on the screen doesn’t make him a protagonist. What challenges did he overcome? How did he change or grow? All he ever did was ignore common sense until it was too late, get his butt kicked, and sell his daughter’s soul. You should be thanking the Alliance for clearing the dead weight honestly.
Once again, also inaction from the horde even though he saved you guys once before lol. Trust me, we all know the horde are basically just bad dates who “forget their wallets” when paying time comes.
Don’t. Kill. Genn. He keeps the Alliance from becoming all rainbows and unicorns.
Just putting it out there though, the entire expansion was about Alliance leaders winning and succeeding. The Horde was barely given spotlight.
It’s not some kind of payment. It’s just more Alliance spotlight because you complained too much about Teldrassil.
Lol it sucks because no matter who’s story they tell some side is always like WHY DON’T WE GET KEWL STUFF. But I’ll give you Legion gave the alliance a lot more moments for sure, hands down. I have a feeling that Mekkatorque is going to either die or have to be engineered to survive and be changed quite a bit if that’s any consolation lol.
For example, I couldn’t abide the forums when everyone was upset the horde got a story plot choice. But they also had to watch their faction blight it’s own people and the only real choice they got was to choose whether or not to join in spraying people or not lol
How did his character grow? You should be asking how Talanji grew, because unlike Rastakhan, Talanji literally has zero backstory to grow from.
Rastakhan on the other hand used to rule the Zandalari Empire with an iron fist with the help of Rezan. Slowly over time, Rastakhan stopped caring about his empire, and his people began to rise against him. One example of this being Talanji’s (supposed) mother, and Rastakhan’s ex-wife who tried to kill Rastakhan in his sleep.
This continued for a while until the Cataclysm, where Zul warned Rastakhan of the Cataclysm, but Rastakhan just laughed. Of course the Cataclysm did happen, and afterwards Rastakhan gave Zul his own fleet, while he and the others stayed on Zandalar to rebuild their city.
We then saw Rastakhan in person in BFA, where he told us that he is aware of the Blood Trolls and is suspicious of a coup himself. He is then backstabbed by Zul and is saved by Pa’ku. All of the current Loa dislike Rastakhan because of his apathy for his people.
He is then brought to Zeb’ahari where the Tortollans do their best to save him, but Rastakhan’s soul is taken by Bwonsamdi. Rezan then steps in to save Rastakhan. Rastakhan wakes and begins to take action again by killing all those who were responsible for this betrayal. Afterwards, Rastakhan returns to Rezan’s temple for the first time in months and breaks Rezan out of his binds.
Rezan then gives him what has become Rastakhan’s signature line: “Be you predator, or prey?” Rezan then pursues Zul up into Atal’dazar where he is then killed. Rastakhan feels guilty of this, even though it was not his fault that Rezan charged in alone.
Rastakhan has his change of heart when he makes the deal with Bwonsamdi. Prior, he was an idle king who cared little for his people. Now? He sacrifices his soul and all those who follow to Bwonsamdi, in order to save Zandalar and it’s people.
The big difference between Rastakhan and Talanji, is that Rastakhan earned his people’s trust, Talanji did nothing and already had it.
The alliance equivalent to Rastakhan is Katherine Proudmoore btw. (And she’s probably gona die)
Although I’d gladly like to see Sylvanas and Anduin (both leaders of their factions) die if you’re okay with that.
