Alliance Vanguard: Hand of Shadows

“What’s the time, comrade?”

“twenty-two eleven.”

“Log it. Move on my signal.”

As the fiery red sunset dimly lit the narrow streets of Orgrimmar, five rogues from The Hand of Shadows skulked through the city’s merchant district. Surrounded by their enemies, the fearless assassins blended in with the evening city life. They were garbed in long brown cloaks which fell nearly entirely over their faces. They kept their heads slightly tilted towards the ground as they continued the length of the Drag towards the city commons. Their coolness in delivery allowed them to successfully walk amongst their enemies. If they were caught, they would be interrogated, tortured and jailed in the vilest of conditions. But fear was uncharacteristic of The Hand of Shadows, so fear they did not.

Upon reaching the city commons, a human called Xo, son of Xun, approached the guard who kept watch over the easily accessible Auction House roof. He walked up to the orc guardsman, who, upon seeing his face, grabbed quickly for his sword. But as his hand reached his hilt, his vision went black. Standing behind the fallen guard was Mahavishnu, son of Malakran. All was going as planned.

“You two, make for your positions on the roof. Cragster, Baal – come with me.”

Knyvez had been working tirelessly for the past week blueprinting a flawless assassination strategy of a high ranking Wolfclan official.

“As you command, sir” responded Xo, “Shall we prepare item 14 for use?”

“Yes” Knyvez smirked, “my intel has informed me that we will indeed be in need of item 14.”

“Very well then, commander. We will await your signal.” Xo and Mahavishnu quickly bound the knocked out guard and pulled him into a dark corner. With no further hesitation, they positioned themselves at their appointed spots on the Auction House roof.

Knyvez led Cragster and Baal around the backside of Garrosh Hold to an abandoned catapult still remaining in Orgrimmar from the war. They hid within the large structure and waited until the diminishing sunlight turned to complete darkness. Eleven minutes passed when Knyvez decided the operation would commence. Cragster was to stay back at the catapult with a bundle of smoke bombs, while Baal and Knyvez would approach the target. They practiced this scenario multiple times in their training exercises, but they all knew anything could go wrong. Improvisation was characteristic of their line of work, but nonetheless remained quite a nuisance.

“Time?”

“twenty-two thirty-nine.”

Beads of sweat formed on Knyvez’s palms. He ran his fingers down his hand – his only visible nervous tick. The two rogues walked to the outside of Garrosh Hold, where a fair size audience was gathered to watch a musical street performance. Knyvez had been aware of the event and knew that it would provide excellent cover. He stood facing the performance as though just another spectator, eyes flashing from face to face as though he were searching for someone. Five minutes past, his eyes still frantically searching. Something had gone wrong.

“Didn’t intel tell us she would be here?” he whispered irritably to Baal.

“They guaranteed it.”

Letting out a quiet but distinctive sigh, Knyvez looked up into the Orgrimmar sky which was fairly visible given the nearly full moon. He looked upon the stars, shining like crystals in the night. The operation had seemingly failed, perhaps to be completed another day. Then, in an instance of extreme fortune, Knyvez saw the orc he was trailing – he found the target. Knyvez knew he had to make use of item 14, but he did not know that it would be used so extensively in this operation. Item 14 was a substance developed in Bloodyknight’s laboratory which allowed users to slow fall for a prolonged period. Their target was watching the musical street performance – the intel was right. However, she was watching from her jeweled wyvern.

“Baal, tell the other two that item 14 will be utilized for offensive purposes – our target is in the sky.”

“As you command” he responded, branching off from the crowd towards the positions of Xo and Mahavishnu.

Initially, item 14 was to be used as part of an escape method. Intel provided that the five rogues would have to retreat from the city limits in record speed as to make their way out before barricades were put in place. They would use rocket boosts to shoot themselves over the walls, and slowfall down using the provided substance. Now, they needed item 14 to reach their target. Their escape method was jeopardized, but they knew it needed to be done. The mission was at risk.

Baal returned to Knyvez with substance 14 pills which they both consumed right away. They waited for about five minutes for the pills to take effect before Knyvez gave the order.

“Let’s do this.”

Creating unprecedented noise and blinding light, the five rogues used their rocket packs to propel towards the flying orc. In a swift motion, they all ended up behind their target as they brutally slaughtered the foul beast. Daggers flew everywhere, blood spilt over the musician and the crowd, as the corpse of Guldanna fell from the sky. Her lifeless body floundered through the air until it smashed into a tuba played by a goblin musician. The crowd turned into a frantic stampede of confusion. The Horde members who were peacefully enjoying their night of music were drenched in blood and gore with absolutely no knowledge of the situation. Shrieks of horror filled the air of Orgrimmar as the five rogues, sparing no use of subtly, flew out of Orgrimmar. As their rocket packs ran out of fuel, four of the five rogues gracefully floated towards the ground of Ashenvale on the west side of Durotar. Cragster, who had not consumed a pill, glided like a dove through the air with the help of some goblin engineering. The mission was a complete success. The Queen of Ironwolf Clan was slain.

Glory to the Alliance Vanguard! Glory to the Alliance!

Go time is coming quickly.

1 week to go

Hi interested possibly is there a discord i missed somewhere and what exactly is still needed as id be rolling prot warrior but can go holy pally if necessary. Thanks.

We have a discord but add my battletag first Blom#1930

My guild just decided to go to a different server, and I don’t really want to go somewhere else, so I will be sending you a message on bnet about joining. I am a bit familiar with your guild, and stomping horde in wpvp.

Edit: my btag is Vodski#1988 and added you. I’ll be playing a reckoning paladin, but have no qualms about healing/buffing/cleansing. I cleared almost everything in real vanilla, except C’Thun, and Kel’Thuzad, while pvping to rank 12 (played with 9 or so people on their way to Grand Marshal), all while doing military duties IRL. Didn’t get much sleep, lol.
