Blizzard has ensured that I am never leaving and this is my retirement. It’s always been my perfect game. I can do everything now. Have a house, go punch things in the face, go play with my pets, exploring, punching bosses in the face, healing people. Lots and lots of exploring. Falling off high heights and seeing if I don’t die. Trying to create my own UI (still at it after all these years- Bliz we’re almost there). Dying to the stupidest stuff, but being able to live to tell the tale. Oh, and I can fly.

Did I mention I get to have a house now?

Yep, I’m gonna live here now.

Original devs literally stated they built a game they liked …if you like it cool if you dont …dont play it… since then dev teams have been trying to chase the success of that game…

Compared to the competition at the time WoW was much more accessible. Just as an example you don’t lose levels and items on death. If I dug into my mind palace for half an hour I could think of much worse things MMOs tortured you with before game design got a lot better.

Like long graveyard runs? Try respawning an hour away from where the boss was only to get back and find another guild just swiped it from you and the 3 hours you and 30 other people wasted camping it was for nothing.

That was one of the reasons I despised Runescape.

This is quite literally not true.

Games with broad appeal gain massive audiences. It’s why WoW shot to the heights it did in the years after it launched, because it was a game for everyone, especially when compared to existing MMOs like Everquest and Ultima Online.

WoW has always been a game for everyone. You just didn’t notice until you started to dislike the game decisions made for an evolving player base.

They should turn wow into an idle auto battler. That would make it very inclusive.

No, they shouldn’t.

The game will never play itself for you, unless you’re breaking the ToS by using bots.

Reeks of PR talk lol.

Pet Battles wouldn’t exist and the game would go back to raid or die.

Nobody is asking for this.

There is no game for everyone in a competitive setting

No, it’s definitely true, just depends on the context in which it’s being discussed. WoW isn’t a game for everyone, but they seemingly are pushing in that direction. The constant nerfing of the game instead of letting people rise to the various challenges will eventually bite them as people get more and more bored. You can already see it now with large parts of the game being basically worthless to even engage with.

WoW exploded because it was the right game for the right time, the stars actually aligned. Combined with the old school MMO gameplay starting to become stale as well as coming out at a time when social media and streaming were in their infancy, as well as huge name recognition because of the strategy games, WoW exploded in growth. The fact it only lasted until the second expansion is evidence enough of this. The game is still, to this day, coasting on that early success.

Spoken like someone who doesn’t like games.

I love games. I enjoy earning things because I’m not bad at them over demanding things be given to me because “I pay a sub” or whatever other excuse you want to make.

I’m not making any kind of excuse. I love raiding. If Blizzard decided to give Raiding-exclusive transmogs to casuals, I would not care because killing the boss is what I’m here for.

I already know I beat the boss, I don’t need anything else.

Am I supposed to be impressed or something?

Youre not even an AOTC level raider. You are the level of people that dont actually earn the rewards

Considering I wasnt even talking to you I really dont care what you do.

It’s a public forum.

I never said it wasnt.

Still doesnt change the fact that my statement wasnt directed at you thus whether you are impressed or not is really not a concern I have at the slightest.

Bro just ripped Arrowhead Studio’s slogan.
