A Formal Request Thread for Fresh/New TBC Servers

^
I responded to this indirectly above as well.

I agree, but the long-term benefits and proceeds outweigh the short-term losses.

Same.

many blue post responses to other threads but nothing on arguably the most popular thread on the forums

Blue posts to things that matter.

This isn’t on the agenda clearly.

Your fresh server dream is dead. Probably time to quit since you didn’t get what you want.

You sound like every Wall of No poster. They were wrong, and hopefully you are as well. Blizz would be complete fools to not make at least 1 pvp and 1 pve fresh server option.

I like this plan.
It is precisely how we got classic servers in the first place.
Oh
 wait.

Its a good thing we know blizzard never makes mistakes like thi

I can’t
 I can’t do it
 I won’t lie for them.

Pretty sure the reason they haven’t respond is because they are hoping to string us along until prepatch launches and hope we just cave and play on servers that already exist.

One thing I want to set perfectly straight:

the servers that ActiBli$$ion use are Hewlett-Packard, as-cheap-as-possible servers. They really went into the dumpsters with Classic servers (hence the layering, stuttering, etc., in early Classic). I have maximum speed, gigabit internet and I still stuttered in the beginning. ActiBli$$ion could throw out blades (blade systems) faster than it took those two engineers to polish off that mount and two toys (probably a day).

Creating a few fresh servers
with the blades I could probably do it myself. Literally a few servers with reset 1s and zero economy. Everything clean. It would be way easier than the route they’re taking with “Retail TBC.” They could always provide an alternative to make up for the boosts, etc., in order to preserve TBC.

All I can ascertain is of course ActiBli$$ion doesn’t want to say until they get a feel for “Retail TBC.” I pay a subscription, so I am going to keep asking for fresh servers. I do believe there has been mention within ActiBli$$ion of this topic. It is also true that moderators pretty much respond based on whatever their higher-ups tell them to. This doesn’t mean that they don’t relay input to those higher-ups. That is how the pipe-dream of Classic EVENTUALLY came to be. People used to mock the idea of it, yet here we are. I am confident we WILL get a blue remark eventually.

I think I made it to 52 or 53. I was bored to tears and had trouble seeing the screen
Uninstalled it.

That’s the plan.

its on the cloud. not sure they need new blades to give us fresh. just a few modifications to code. its even easier than adding a blade

I appreciate everything you say. Thank you. :green_heart:

I think the fact that it has nothing to do with the server technology has been well established.

The arguments over maintenance and install/uptime costs are petty and missing the point. I get we all want to flex our MCSA Windows Server 2012 certifications, but it’s not what’s happening here.

Blizzard could snap their fingers and have 10 new realms ready to go in any state they’d like. They do it for testing all the time.

They’re not starting fresh servers because it’s not in their game plan for BC launch. They could, but they’re not. They could do a lot of things, but it doesn’t mean they will or should.

You can say it’s because they just want to make money, you can say it’s because they don’t care, you can say it’s because they hate the people that pay for their game every month and want them all to die (all of this has been said and is all pure speculation), but either way, it’s not because they can’t, it’s because they don’t want to.

They aren’t telling you all why either. Why not? Who knows. Is it because they hate you all and want you to suffer? Probably not, it’s most likely because they’ve got more important things to worry about.

Just saying.

haha i just ran a ramparts on tbc beta. we had a 58 boosted char in the group. she was a mage. it was a disaster lol

I would assume something went wrong with the mage but people going at level 58 unboosted can be just as bad at the game.

yeah 58 too low for tbc ramps i think. but she ran in to melee (oom? why not wand?), which aggroed next group because she was 58 whereas the tank was 60

Same. I see you caught a lot of unnecessary flak. Thank YOU for your contributions here. I do believe we will get a positive result here on fresh. Eventually.

Just wait until there are legions of them.
