I enjoy housing. Super fun and great to see everyone’s creativity. One of my houses has things I like about the game, but one room being my version of Carnegie Hall (it’s on WoWHousingDB but I don’t necessarily want to share the blueprint because it’s still special to me).
My other house is a nightmare. It’s intentionally a maze based on a difficult dungeon from the original Legend of Zelda. With level 12 housing, I will be able to add the last 5 rooms (I’m at 59 out of 64 rooms). I have a few traps, some of which may cause you to start all over.
One of the things I could really use is the ability to set a timer for how long doors stay open. I know I’m not the only one who goes and shuts all the doors people inconsiderately leave open. So rude! lol But for the maze, I would love the doors to be able to shut on a timer we can set. Let us have the option of “no timer” or open from “2 or 3 seconds to whatever length”. This way anyone brave enough to enter will not be able to easily follow another as the doors will shut, not setting a path for anyone else.
I would like a ladder, similar to the one in the Arcantina. I’m not sure how it would be useable for us, but the upward part needs to land you on ground, so we’d have to be able to set a destination so the player doesn’t fall back down, and using it to go down would be either not an option, or just drop you at the end.
Thirdly, I would like the option for rooms that are joined to not have a doorway.
In my maze I have 59 rooms, soon to be 64. One area is a 4 by 6 area, so 24 rooms. I don’t want you to be able to run forward from the farthest room on the left to the room on the right. I only have the option of “standard” or “wide” but I would like a 3rd option of “wall”. The reasoning is, I have to put in blocks to force a wall there, and because housing will always have issues here and there, things I place don’t always stay in place after being offline or out of the house for some time.
While I want my victims to think there’s a door there and go to open it, only to see it’s a wall, I don’t want the small or large platform piece to be out of place (due to a bug), and allow them to pass through. So having a wall remain a wall when it could be a door, would be great. And to make sure it works, this can only be an option if there is at least 1 standard entry to that room. So I may have a room that has 3 fake doors and 1 real door. I could have 3 walls and you have to go to the south side of that room to enter it.
We need skeletons. Specifically, I would like the different racial skeletons. Since you can’t die in houses, I would like to have skeletons be in some rooms, giving the appearances that the “hazards” I have placed were the cause of death, or that people got lost in the maze and died. Give the option to make it seem players died there as well as the skeleton sitting against the wall. Also, do we have cobwebs?
Also, for rooms that share a doorway. In my maze’s exit room, it’s obviously the exit. The walls are grand and clearly is the finish. But a room next to the exit room, that should have a wall between the two instead of one with an obstacle, I want to have the wall on the exit room be the grand appearance whilst the room on the other side of the wall uses the look I have for all of the rooms. I can’t have the wall look grand on one side and the other side be a giveaway that the the room on the other side is special. I think a shared wall should be able to have Bel’ameth Dark on one side and Silvermoon Light on the other.
I don’t necessarily want people to easily find the exit.
The maze is on WoWHousingDB as well, but it’s not the same as it was and it’s currently locked to visitors until I can finish the 4th maze. Well, the overall house is a maze but there are 4 individual mazes in it.
