A Deaf Raiding Guild was just forced into retirement due to the addon bans

What is the name of this guild?

I think you’re not getting this from the “elitists” or who are called elitists here by the baddies.

You’re getting this from the baddies that can’t cut in, that think they’ll become good just because the addons will be gone.

Ya if Blizz really cared about disabled communities it wouldn’t have taken them 20 years to implement support for those players

Check what Ion has said about the removal of these addons in this YT video. Personally, I get people are upset that a small part of their game is being removed but it’s not going to make the game unplayable. I imagine for most people, none of these addons really are necessary anyway–they’re just bloat.

Maybe, but tbh if I regret one thing about this post it’s using that word in particular because it’s pretty inflamatory and distracts from the real issue I’m dissapointed by. There’s a lot of people ITT who are against addons but are here in bad faith. They would prefer people simply not talk about this so I was feeling pretty heated at the time I made that edit.

They are working with add-on development, it’s only a few days into the alpha, let them get the feedback to adjust the content if they need. If you’re talking about combat add-ons, they are the main ones that blizzard feels gives to much information which makes them have to design content even harder because they know people use the add-ons.

Again, cosmetic add-ons are not changing, only things that pull information that is there but not in a form you like currently. With the upcoming changes and baked in add-ons it will make people learn to play the game, now listen to an add-on to tell them to get out of stupid.

Just give it time to see how it goes. We don’t need to be a group of Chicken Littles.

Even doing Cutting Edge Mythic, I never needed details or rarescanner or a bunch of other “required” addons he listed.

And I’m struggling to recall a single time I turned on BW in Undermine. Since I’ve retired from Mythic, I certainly had no issues getting AOTC this tier without BW/DBM even being installed.

This all just comes down to bad players. I remember back in Dragonflight when people were insisting “DBM is required because I don’t know Raz is breathing lightning in my face without it.” Good grief.

Stop linking the old stuff.

Thats three days ago, before we knew WeakAuras was being gutted to the point of the Authors quitting.

I know that I’ve tons of things on my UI that I don’t need.

It’s still relevant.
Here’s the link again.

Whose saying “lol don’t be deaf”?

Please give examples.

And be specific.

No, its not relevant.
Because the question that is being asked is literally not what you are claiming, that ‘addons are not necessary anyway’ ‘just bloat’.

Ion never said anything like that in that answer, nor was the question even remotley based upon those rationals.

By the way, if somebody wants to assert “Blizzard keeps making the fights harder because their egos are making them get into an eternal war with Echo over which of them can pee farther than the other.”

I totally agree.

And the dev team need to knock it off with their juvenile behavior.

But that’s not a reason to nuke addons.

“We have a ton of native improvements to the UI like boss timers, boss alerts, so you can see a timeline of upcoming boss abilities”

Blizzard could end the Addon war by just

“heres a dragon. Avoid its breath and tail and swipe”

But no. They want to make harder and harder fights.

That does not matter. They are breaking non-combat parts of addons after saying they would not. They are not working with addon authors like they said they would.

I dont care if their version of details wipes my mouth after I drool. I want to use Details because it will OF COURSE be infinitly better after years of dev time than a cracked up buggy, less feature rich bastardization of it.

Nuking addons and simplifying the game at the same time makes no sense.

If Blizz wanted stuff easier, could’ve made stuff easier with their own provided addons. Then we have an easy raid next tier (emerald nightmare part 2.)

Addons only make stuff easier so removing it is to make it harder (which goes against the goal of simplifying in the first place.)

Like they can waste a tier to not cater to Limit/Echo.

Those are quality of life addons, things that SHOULD already be implemented to make the gaming experience agreeable.

You mean you had no issue getting carried, right? Congratulations on being a deadweight to your group mr green parser.

I mean…

Blizzard’s fight design in general needs to be under scrutiny.

Like pre-adjustment Mugzee in Undermine, where you had to stack the raid with classes that could teleport out of the jails.

There’s NO REASON to design garbage like that. And add-ons have NOTHING to do with it.

Look, a bit of a stretch

They can watch videos to learn/see what to do
Type a plan

I have done fights in pugs with 0 voice chat, and I never had any addons. I used to pug my AOTC by"pretending" to be in Discord and just knowing the fight ahead of time

Communication and addons are highly over rated
