A Dark Iron Dwarf with a Troubled Past Looking for a Home & Character Connections

Hello everyone. I’ve decided to come back to World of Warcraft and start fresh with a new character and one I am now intending to main for the foreseeable future. It’s quite a change of pace going from a righteous, innocent paladin to an ex-enemy that committed war crimes and burned many bridges. I’ll get to that in a moment. I am not a seasoned dwarf role player at all but I am learning and I am liking the experienced and lore of the Dark Irons. So, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in bringing our characters together. Real quick, I will give a super quick run down of my character’s past and present standing. This won’t be the full depth of his history but it will contain the main pieces.

Iudex Frampt Shattervein was born in Shadowforge City well over a century ago (still tweaking his age but I think 117 years might be enough). Growing up, he eventually became a battle mage of sorts, fending off the Black Dragonflight and fellow forces at Blackrock Mountain to gain control of the territory. Time passes and he remains at his fellow Dark Irons’ side when the idea of a true, strong leader came about. As such, he fell under the belief that the Firelord Ragnaros would lead his people into glory. Having joined the Angerforge sect of military, Frampt discovered his ability to use blood magic alongside his arcanist talent. He got his surname from his violent torture methods. The man did not remain on the battlefield, but instead became an executor for those that defied High Justice Grimstone and any other form of authority above him. His realm of command became the Ring of Law, where he would oversee punishments given to traitors and prisoners of war. His use of the arcane arts allowed him to shatter their minds and harm them mentality, while his use of blood magic granted him the power to kill a prisoner and resurrect them again and again to torture them. One such prisoner was a female Bronzebeard Dwarf by the name of [ X ]. Over time, he grew fond of the prisoner and would meet her in secret in her cell. She convinced Frampt of the cult’s twisted ways and beliefs. A fellow executioner caught wind of his actions and it was soon discovered the woman was with child. Seeing that he had become a traitor, Frampt murdered the man and hastily opened a portal to secure the woman’s safety that he had fallen in love with. After a gruesome chase and battle, Frampt was captured, tortured and set to be executed himself. The night before his set date of death, the key to his cell was found on the floor. To this day, he doesn’t know who helped him escape, but he took his change and managed to flee. Now an exile and traitor, Frampt has sought to change his ways and embrace a new source to devote his faith to, perhaps in The Light. Though he feels he cannot be redeemed, he is now chasing atonement. His heart might somewhat be in the “right place” now, but he is still a rough, stern and aggressive dwarf at times and can be extreme or brash, but he is trying his best to change. He has been chasing rumors of a dwarf that bears a resemblance to him. Before he sent his lover on her way to safety, he had given her a chain necklace, the end of it having a triangle. He owns a matching one. He isn’t sure if that woman and his child are alive, but he certainly hopes so.

If anyone is interested, I would love to have connections with each other and figure something out. Here are some relationships that I am looking for.

  1. His long lost daughter and her mother (his lover).

I’m not sure if her mother is still alive, but I would certainly love for him to meet his daughter some day. I suppose she would be a “half-breed”, but whether she looks like a normal dwarf or Dark Iron is entirely up to you.

  1. Old friends that managed to escape the Blackrock Depths.

Like Frampt, perhaps some old war veterans, medics or simple friends from the city managed to also escape. They could recognize each other some time. We can discuss how they know each other, if there is any good or bad blood and where we want the relationship to go. You could be a life long friend in the works or an enemy.

  1. Current platonic relationships.

These are people that Frampt has come to know and love over time. You could be a fellow traveling mage or a someone that helps him resupply. Maybe you’re drinking buddies or fellow war veterans or a friendly priest helping him find his way. Anything is fine with me. Race and gender do not matter!

An actual romantic role play partner would be great in the future. Frampt is extremely loving and loyal, but it’s a bit of a struggle to reach his heart. Hopefully some lass is patient enough with his bullheaded self.

Things to note about Frampt are that he isn’t evil or necessarily mean but he isn’t the softest or sweetest man. Imagine…a sort of “Geralt of Rivia” kind of guy. Quiet, serious, definitely has a thing for women and enjoys his alone time. He may not seem approachable and it isn’t easy getting close to him, but he would die and kill for the ones he loves and calls his friends. His loyalty is unmatched. He has been on the run for a few years now. He no longer practices blood magic. He’s a skilled telemancer (okay…once I full level up…lol) and is not much of a knowledge seeker by nature unlike most mages, unless he selfishly needs to learn something to improve himself. He will not engage in needless fights, but his temper can flare (he’s working on it!). Frampt has very blunt, dry humor but he means well. He is also very wary of Dracthyr due to his past of warring with dragons and drakes and he is a little suspicious of elves. Chances are if you’ve ever had a loved one fight at Blackrock Mountain and disappear, he’s probably been the end of their life.

If anyone is interested in making a connection or has any idea(s) or feedback since I am a new Dark Iron Dwarf role player, I would be very interested to hear. He is still rather fresh but I’m so in love with him as a character and I’m finally getting time to myself since coming back. I’m on just about every day. I’m very much a night owl unless I’ve met my three days of no sleep crash period, so you can find me in most places. Right now I’m trying to figure out the best way to level up. Apparently I can’t do world content to level sixty? I’m not sure? Unless I use Chromie and pick Cataclysm? I’m not sure what’s going on with that but I just want to have a chill experience questing to level up to further my character as I listen to podcasts. Lol. If you have a guild recommendation, I am also open to that! I might be okay with military or all Dark Iron or perhaps an odd collection of mistfits. I might even consider a holy order if I can be convinced. The man is trying to change his ways after all (he even carries a clerical chime like priests use.) Anyway sorry if this is a big ol’ mess but I got some free time this super early evening and I thought I would drop my information and see if anyone’s interested. Thanks!

You know, seeing people who put so much effort and thought into a character before they really start roleplaying has always been inspiring to me. Dloin’s story only really got solidified in the last few years, and I’ve been playing him since TBC.

Dwarf roleplay is the best. It’s been the only race I keep coming back to, and I’ve played multiple dwarves over the years, though Dloin is the only one who has been consistent. If you want to ever chat dwarf RP, feel free to reach out to me in game. I’m more than happy to help.

I’d also love to have Dloin and Frampt meet up at some point! Again feel free to reach out in game and we can chat! Welcome to dwarf RP!

I just realized my post had so many grammatical errors, oh my gosh. I promise I’m not that illiterate in person! Wow, though. A character since TBC. That’s very cool. I hope to develop Frampt over the coming years like that, if his attitude doesn’t get him smoked first. I only have one character that old but it’s been collecting dust. I agree. Dwarf role play is interesting and I’ve barely even scratched the surface. Next time I’m in game, I’ll have to add you!

I tend to poke around in the evening or early morning to see what folks are up to. I know Stormwind is always busy, of course, but are there other big hubs for role play for all people or even just dwarves? I’ve been absent for some time and really only stuck to the cities, though now it seems Stormwind is the only one that sees action. I wish Ironforge got that kind of love! But anyway, I think we would have quite the time role playing! Frampt is fine with just about anyone, but a fellow dwarf will always make him the most comfortable. Just don’t mind Frampt’s intense eye contact. He isn’t dissociating or struggling to pay attention or even being rude, he’s just got a serious habit of paying attention a little too much.

There is a Dark iron guild around that i forget the name of but they seem cool!

Dwarven Vanguard are also some good friends of mine and great people! Just changed leadership and he’s pretty dope. Always a fun time with them.

Sounds great! Stormwind really is the only option for unscheduled RP, but it is fairly active at all times. I tend to be on for a bit in the morning and occasionally in the afternoon, then even more occasionally at night. I’ve never had a hard time finding RP at any of those hours, just sometimes I need to be the one initiating it and sometimes I can let others walk up to me. But as long as you’re willing to do the walking up, I’m confident you’ll find RP at almost any time of the day.

I’d recommend the Hand of Shadowforge if you’re interested in a Dark Iron-themed guild. We’re good people, pretty active, and very chill despite all the flaming beards. :fire::fire::fire:

I just scrolled a little to find a recruitment post and thankfully found one. You lot sound like an interesting bunch and not to mention I would be fellow Dark Iron dwarves. I’m going to send in some questions. Thank you for the recommendation!

Highly Recommend The Hand of Shadowforge!
Or Dwarven Vanguard!

Your character sounds great! I love character connections and if I had a dwarf character of my own, I’d be all over it.

Was also going to recommend the two guilds above

The Modan Spellbreak Agency’s always open if you ever find yourself in need of a mixed Dwarven guild with a magic/archaeology base!
