In other words, you just want more rewards for your style of play, right?
Rule of thumb for anyone making hair-brained suggestions; consider if your suggestion is what’s best for the entire player base and not just what you think will benefit yourself.
naw I’d go the other direction, pvp should be forced on you some of the time, I’d say make a contested pvp zone selected randomly and once it is triggered a certain amount of honorable kills have to be recorded before it switches to a new location.
make it so you can’t leave the zone without killing someone or the pvp effect ending but you can enter. every once in a while lock it to a zone with a ridiculously high amount of kills needed
in fact im making an argument against warmode because i like pvp servers AS THEY ARE right now and dont want it taken away from me and the many people (read: more people than pve servers by population stats and raid logs) that enjoy them.
it makes the point that if you made the same conditions, more people would choose pvp servers over the warmode servers every single time.
So your take is that the current system of everyone glitching under the map to unflag, buying gold to get boosted, and paying for piloted carries to avoid pvp is superior to only being able to pvp against people who want to?
I think a lot of people are getting confused by this topic. The entire point of warmode is it nullifies server ecosystems and puts everyone on 1 server or shards the servers to connect everyone. Whether that’s a good or bad thing is up to the interpreter. Regardless, having warmode while also having different servers types makes no sense. Warmode should be discussed under the context of a single server/server like solution. Not under the context of having different server types.
The average players ability to be able to group up and play with their friends supercedes any griefer complaints they can’t kill level 20’s in redridge anymore. How many players has anniversary lost I wonder due to people not being able to roll on the pvp server due to blizzard’s messed up “balancing” system(where people layer away immediately when the opposite faction show up).
People against warmode weren’t gonna play classic+ due to too many changes anyways so why worry about them.
I’m inclined to agree with this position, if it’s a single server solution.
But I’d counter with that Vanilla wow at its core is incompatible with large servers. If you want people to go out and enjoy the world, the amount of people existing in said world competing over limited resources very much impacts the player experience and I’d argue most of the time that impact is negative. Almost nobody wants to compete with 10 other people for 1 named mob. Almost nobody wants to compete with 20 other people for 1 mining node. That type of competition is just not a fun experience for most people. I’m not saying everything should be available to everyone but I do think there’s a balance that has to be implemented in some fashion.
Warmode is great if you force everyone onto a single server/single server like solution. But maybe we shouldn’t do that in the first place. That’s where I think the focus of the conversation should be.
I know. He was first though so I replied to him. I’m sorry for not giving you the recognition you earned. Here’s a that-a-boy pat. /pat
Everyone loves it, so it is a success. It doesn’t matter what reasons you think it’s successful for - because it is
Yeah how many?
Did you collect data from every single player about their opinion on the matter? Or did you read 3 forum posts and just assumed it was “everyone”
Well I am better than you, more handsome and in shape than you, richer than you irl and most likely to corpse camp you because you don’t know how to play your character
And I will be there, but on the server with good players, not on your server
Thanks for exposing your bad faith argument. “Eliminating players” is not on the menu for blizzard. They will do what’s best for the most players. We can both read between the lines on that one
proper population balance is great for both pvp and pve to some effects.
way better to see a mix of factions out in the world than the same mono factions it became when they allowed for full paid transfers with no restrictions.
people complaining will be more visible on the forums especially than the happy majority.
no , the point of warmode was to help consolidate server types and have 1 ruleset for a population that had long since gone soft.
the classic + population seems to not be soft like that and seems to want pvp servers as an option.
