I would be all for expanding the DH races but it would require them to bring back Illidian into the main story line and I don’t see him returning until the next Legion invasion.
It’s clearly coming. I’m thinking of race changing my dh to a Tauren once it becomes an option. Or a panda. Can’t decide if I want to have a flying moose or bear.
Tauren is the only correct answer.

Nah, I’m OK with this one staying race locked. DH is very iconic to Night Elves or Blood Elves.
Nightborne and Void Elves, perhaps… but I just can’t with a Tauren Demon Hunter.

DHs have zero relation to BE outside of ‘we need a Horde race to get DH for parity’. DHs are pretty much an entirely Night Elf invention, at least the way Illidan does it. Now, Ztrolls have alternate methods, and I’m convinced Goblins and Gnomes could reverse-engineer it with enough… Attempts.
But BE and DH have no connection outside of ‘The Horde will want these as well.’

They don’t, I just hear cold, dark DK voice lines being interrupted by a “MoooOoOOOOO” and it means if Cows can be DKs, they can be anything.

Frankly I’d rather we open up glaives from a lore perspective, never made sense for them to be class locked to DH’s anyways… the DHs got theirs from their time as other classes in other factions. Shadow Hunters are just one non-Elf example, there’s also two Elven factions and quite a few others that PCs might reasonably be a part of that use warglaives.
Bleh I hate not catching sarcasm. Usually I’m the one complaining about that.
At the very least we should get draenei and orc demon hunters.
In the illidan book he goes on a secret missions to fight the true threat (the void).
He mentions it being an even greater threat than the legion. We don’t need another legion invasion to add more demon hunters. We could have a void invasion or threat that forces illidan to return to help out hence more dhs
