9.2 tier sets

So what’s the deal here? Are they going to be raid only? As fun as some sound they look broken, some of them at least.

And if they make it to arena, are they going to be obtained through raiding only? Out of the loop so I’m a bit clueless on the goss.

no

you’ll get a currency from your weekly great vault that will let you buy them apparently

ion originally said this system is something in the past they would implement as a ‘catchup’ late into the tier
but are instead opting to put this system in from the get-go

though a different dev said several weeks later that it will be a catchup system

so impossible to tell but one thing is sure, if you raid you will get tier before everyone else at the very least

we goin back to late bfa where u have to pve to pvp boys

I haven’t been following the PTR because I can only handle so much disappointment in my life, but what’s going on exactly? Everyone is going to be wearing PVE gear again? What happened to PvP gear being bis?

Are mythic raid no lifers going to be trolling us again?

Should just disable it in PVP if conquest sets aren’t going to have it.

You’ve had to do that all expansion. renown? soul and soul cinders?

There was a dev interview from another country, but they explained the tier sets all have set secondary stats so I am guessing that’s why the PvP bonus is being changed. For example if you transform your vers/haste PvP chest into a tier piece it will have whatever stats the devs assigned to that piece (e.g. the piece now has crit/haste). What is not known is how quickly you can acquire the items necessary to craft/transform gear into tier pieces, if there is rng associated with the acquisition of said items, or if those tier pieces made from pvp gear will retain the additional ilvl.

If I had to put money on it I’d expect to get your teeth kicked in by lucky raiders for the first 1-2 months of season 3 and for there to be no catch up mechanic in place for alts to quickly acquire tier pieces effectively rendering them useless again (unless weekly capped from start of season) for a period of time until the devs act surprised in 6 months and gift us some new catch up mechanics.

idk to me “pve to pvp” never meant having to do normal game stuff like leveling, participating in expansion systems, etc. It meant more along the lines of having to participate in end game PvE content to be optimal in end game PvP content. I don’t think 9.2 will fully cause that, but like I said I could 100% see PvP players who also raid getting a large advantage early in the season that will level out over time.
