There is no “normal” on patch days. Sometimes it ends early, sometimes very early, occasionally it is extended.

TBF, there is no “normal” in patching in any business.
Most Tuesdays are an hour at a lull in the morning.
Patches are like once every few months and they’re the only time down time really intrudes on playtime. And even then, not that much since the servers will be back up when people start getting off of work, for most people anyways.
Most of us have simply accepted that patch day tuesdays aren’t gonna be great for playtime.
The rest of us spend this time QQing about it on the forums.
Not today. I mean most mornings except Tuesdays. That’s the only busy morning time when the server comes up.

I don’t think blizzard is losing people over patch maintenance, and if they are. good riddance.
It’s not a big deal and yes for North America those are slightly more inconvenient hours for players… we’ll all pull through. So hold your loved ones close and light a candle for when the servers are live again

It’s a fun game. Still one of my other fav mmos except it is mostly a single player rpg now in an mmo world. Also has by far the worst f2p model I have seen. From how low the max credit limit is (which basically if you are f2p you can’t buy anything good on the “AH”) to having to pay weekly to do “dungeons” and “raids” (unless they changed that now.
But yeah, if you are just wanting to play for the story etc. then you will be fine. Might even be worth to sub just month to month.

You clearly haven’t been around for other patches that require maintenance. Otherwise, you’ve forgotten. I remember them going down for maintenance a few times after live because things broke (garrison, looking at you).
