90% nerf to soulkeeper is unaaceptable

Rather sure shadowflame does proc it because the ring is also proced by demonbolt but ill watch the vid when i get home.

it is wild to that as a cap stone choice they
are so boring and void of any game change or through put. how is it the cap stone ads less player power than any other choice on the tree

Both Shadowflame and chaos proc it but now you are relying on a rppm to proc a rppm. Thats beyond bad.

Eanog ring is dead for affliction after today broodkeeper at least has great stats so still worth using.

Good thing a spark quest is this week so I can replace that craptastic crit/vers ring for a haster/mastery one.

At this point whoever the dev is that is working on this class needs to be fired but my guess its a rogue dev that has no idea what they are doing.

I just can’t fathom how you can take stuff like soul swap acknowledge the issue and make it 2x worse than what it was before? This is the kind of crap that causes people to get frustrated and unsub.

Assuming any of the class devs actually play the game is rather overly optimistic.

they made the talents objectively worse by reworking them in an attempt to make them better. you can’t make this up.

They are most likely college interns whos biggest concern is where they are going for lunch.

That’s totally unfair to college interns. I think the college interns would do a MUCH better job.

Be fair thats a concern of mine right now lol

What was the point in “redesigning” soulkeeper and gaze if you were just going to make them worse. now soulkeeper is so bad that you take it in 0 situations and gaze is set and forget. Their talent change choices seem to get worse and their solution to balance problems seem to be just increase the numbers of something else.

I think the new version in PvE will be better because now you can get more than the basic 3 DoTs onto another target. And with Malefic Rapture getting a damage boost with talents, you will do a lot more damage in fights with 2 or 3 mobs nearby.

As for pvp…
It might actually be a PvP nerf because unstable affliction won’t be automatically “copied” to your new soul swap target unless you already placed it on the original target. Was this an intentional nerf to pvp?

It’s not better for PvE

I was thinking the same thing, but apparently it still only copies the core 3 DoTs…

They discuss some change that they think would be cool, like those reworks on the warlock talents, then they just implement it without calc anything…

Then they see what happens, throw a few conservative updates to reduce disparities between the weakest and strongest specs, doesn’t work, meta stays the same.

And then they just give up on anything that won’t respond well to the small balance updates they done and start to working on the next big patch, like a raid tier patch or something…

This with the Reign of Tyranny buff just tells us that the devs have no idea how Warlock even works. Or whoever is “internally testing” it is a literal ape.

Monk falls behind majorly on ST and will fall behind majorly as people gear on AOE, blizz has done nothing for monks and the dash from tiger palm is a troll so just go Rogue or DH lol

RIP Metamorphosis
RIP Chaos Bolt being scary
RIP UA Dispels killing BAD gamers
RIP Warlock Sustain

Unpopular opinion: stuff like UA is bad design. If you make it actually scary to dispel, then you can’t have good DoT damage since they’re so easy to apply to the entire team. If it’s not scary to dispel, then you need the DoTs doing massive damage to force constant dispels. There should just be a PvP talent that makes DoTs undispellable.

UA Dispel was fine, players either healed through the dmg and it pressured Healers into thinking (A difficult thing to do, I know) or they timed their dispels if the Warlock was running rampant and no one was focusing him. By that logic, no ability in the game should ever be dispelable. On one said, if dispelled, it causes havoc, on the other, if never dispelled the dmg could have been much higher and frightening. You cannot win either way

“you cannot win either way” yeah that’s why it’s bad design. If it’s scary enough to not dispel AND your DoTs do a lot of damage, it just makes aff god-mode. We’ve had metas like that before and they were awful.

They weren’t awful to anyone with a brain. Not to any team with melee sticking to the Aff Lock, as they should always be doing. In any team you never let casters free cast, that’s a 100% ironclad rule.

Dispels being scary isn’t bad. It’s good because it means no more brainless apes playing healers on instinct alone. DoTs need to do crazy damage because the burst meta is insane. So either burst needs to be toned down drastically to compensate for not so good dot damage or dots need to be drastically increased in damage because they are not burst damage, just sustained and considering all healers can dispel at least 2 dots regularly per 8 seconds, yeahhh.
