Yea and people wanna pretend each time populations on a phase that its the biggest fall yet. no we all had aguild faill apart expansions ago xD. we just looked instead of cried(admittedly building the relation and having it fall apart really does suck)
Absolutely, I’ve experienced many guild breakups over the 20 years I’ve played. Even during the classic expansions, I think I’ve been through 2-3 guilds each time. My current guild may not be the best, but I enjoy playing with the members. We might not push the content to a full heroic clear, but we have fun, and at the end of the day, that’s what truly matters in a video game.
probably right…still. They are making millions with the reskin Catacylsm…why not out a lil more effort into it to make it last longer? Its almost as if Blizzard is…“tired” of making money and they just blatantly squeeze their cash piglets (us) for all we are worth
They are just getting 15/month(US) to keep around Classic players. If they can even get 1/4 Classic players to drop Classic and pick up retail they make almost 3.5 months worth of sub money just from the single initial transaction(not including sub fee and additional microtransactions).
Say they have 10 players($150/month):
- 7 leave (7*15=$105 lost)
- 3 players move to retail and accrue sub fee(3*15 = 45/m)
- Those 3 buy $50 base game as well(3*50= 150)
In just that first month Blizz would “lose” $105 in Classic subs lost(assuming the 7 left entirely) but gain $195 from the tiny fraction that shifted to retail…and I’d reckon that people tend to join retail in a larger amount than 1/4 from Classic(friends joining together etc)
I very much believe Blizz is purposely ignoring Cata to push people to retail. Even at a very basic level they are making enormous amounts of profit doing it. If we took into account how much microtransactions are pushed onto retail it becomes incredibly clear that there is a STRONG incentive to push people to retail from Classic.
Imagine your 7/13H guild trying to clear mythic in retail lmfao
Instead of the guild name Heroic you can call yourself Mythic.
Cata is just bad in general.
Not really much else to say, and I don’t really blame Blizzard for ignoring it.
I do wish they would fix some bugs and just rush the content quicker so we can hopefully get to MoP but yeah.
Cata had a higher population than MOP.
…and Blizz is intentionally trying to make it worse to sell retail.

For retail its more stigma these days from older expansions, there isn’t much inbetween the racials anymore.
