Also now that I Just mentioned what I did in the post above…
Come on BLizzard! Your own crappy writing would make this actually work! You yourself wrote it in that the Night Warrior thing was how the Nelves initially conquered their known world! Just have Tyrande do a boat ride, then come back with an army and conquer both Horde and Alliance! It’s right there on the god damn wall and would be so easy to pull off!
You can just say you want to kill Tyrande, man. We’re cool with that sort of thing around here.
So, I have only a minor problem with this. You are 100% correct that it could be… but Sylvanas actively sabotaged potential farm lands in the Plaguelands because they didn’t “serve her purpose” or something like that.
(IIRC. Rather than try to pursue that resource, she just salted the earth just so the living wouldn’t have it.)
… and now a lot of the lands they DID have are Blighted.
No, I’m genuinely opposed to the whole throwing Tyrande under the bus.
That said, if there is no choice like Blizzard is setting up, I’d take it and run the whole field with it since half measures is how we ended up with the loathesome BfA.
I.E. Which would you rather have? Tyrande going Terrorist and needing to be offed? Or Tyrande coming back at the head of the Empire’s remnant and doing a flex and getting a full, proper storyline as the send off?
Yeah, but that doesn’t matter. The Cenarion Circle can just discover the Pills That Make You Cure Blight and the farmlands are restored again.
We both know that’s not true.
Both ideas are pretty bad, not gonna lie. We can just keep her alive as a reminder of the perils of Anduinism.
I find a ancient Imperial remnant kicking everyone’s butt would be a perfect reminder of the perils of Anduinism.
We both know that’s not true, either. If she comes back as an enemy, Anduin gets to say “oh boy it’s so sad that Tyrande did this, now we have to put her down, oh well.” It’s just a silly copout.

New starter zone can have restoration efforts from the RAS. With outside help seen as incursions on sovereign land (like from the CC, AC.
But throw in some belves to show their friendship and such
I would love this so much.
No. Absolutely not. There is absolutely no reason to further b*#&* slap Night Elves more.

i totally did come up with an expac that introduced the eternal empire of azeroth to kick everyone’s butts…
eternal empire stuff is excellent to shake up the status quo and make a big reset button, imo

Fair enough.
I was just trying to work in ways of the presented material to try and make something more interesting. I mean, if Night Warriors -did- conquer the original nelf Empire, why not show it in a manner players can see?
Damn what happened to Tyrande’s high heels??
Burning the tree, not getting reinforcements… all that wasn’t enough, they had to ruin her shoe game too SMH.

…why? That’s literally the plot every expansion.
Not really.
Every other expansion has a big bad come in and try to take over.
In Eternal Empire they succedeed and we spent KotFE and KotET taking the Empire down.
Ive been saying for a while that I’d love for a bad to come in and decimate both the Alliance and the Horde.
As for why, because I’d enjoy it.

Mechanically, though, it is the same.
Big Bad arrives, tries to destroy us both. We spend the expansion dismantling their systems and defenses before killing them. Then we’re all happy.
Same thing, different setting.
Hell, the Horde conquered and enslaved a vast swath of Stormsong in this very expansion, which feels close to what you’re angling for. That would have been better if the Horde had been conquered and enslaved alongside the Alliance?
I have no obligation to justify my tastes in big dumb MMO stories Enekie.
Yes I’d personally enjoy a Big Bad actually succeeding.

You don’t, no. You can stop replying to this conversation whenever you want. I’m just pointing out that the Big Bad has actually succeeded multiple times and it’s still ended up pretty bad.
I could see a future expansion with the Titans becoming free and looking at Azeroth and are like, welp time to cleanse this disaster world.

This is what I really hoped for with N’zoth.
For him to really show why a free Old God is such a terrible thing, and to cause both factions to be crushed so badly that they can’t even reach each other to continue a faction war even if they wanted to - to give more time in the story to settle into peace instead of just announcing it and pretending it works.
