8.3 Is Nothing But Unrewarding, Pointless Grinds

oh, have they started alpha already?

The grind you’re describing existed prior to 8.3. In fact, 8.3’s content is very tame in comparison. Do you know how long it takes to grind rep compared to doing a vision a day and an assault 3 times a week? 98% of my time playing this game is spent doing pre-8.3 content. This is a pretty lame complaint.

No, not really. This is more of the same, but worse. And I’d take rep grinds prior to 8.3 than the rep grinds they gave us. Not to mention some of these dailies are such a P.I.T.A. It isn’t even because they’re difficult either. It requires the following things…

  1. Fly around aimlessly

  2. Pray as you do #1

  3. Find what you’re looking for, but go back to #1 and #2 immediately afterwards because the drop rates suck and the spawn rates suck even more.

ton of likes to the OP, over 100 in 24 hours, damn, GD actually agrees on something? :open_mouth:

I think that was one of the signs fortelling of the old God’s return.

And when the voices of the scholars and scoundrels in General Discussion do harmonize, beware, for the rise of the old gods shall be nigh.

It’s canon. Trust me. :grinning:

Easy, the development team is not really in charge…the bean counters are…wow development team is seriously understaffed, there is a reason why 8.3.5 got canceled…

They dont have the time, and staff for shadowlands and 8.3…honesty I am seriously concerned for shadowlands…the amount of bugs with 8.3 is telling…

Now the question is will ion and development team. Be able to tell the bean counters it’s not ready we have to push it back…

Or will the bean counters say release it now and fix it later

If you’re taking more time to do assaults than you are rep grinds, you are doing something extremely, extremely wrong. They take an hour or two at most in my experience. Doing world quests across Zulduar, Kul’Tiras, Nazjatar and Mechagon takes most of the day.

Plus, grinding rep on assaults isn’t necessary for anything super important to my knowledge. I have no idea why you’d be worried about it. It’s not like pre 8.3 where something huge like playable races is behind it.

They don’t really care about sub numbers because they make so much money from store mounts/promotions, race changes, max level boosts, etc. The model for how they make money has changed dramatically, I would say for the worst.

Oh, man. I agree. It’s not even enjoyable. I typically enjoy new content, but this is terrible. Uldum SUX.

Uldum is unrewarding, miserable content dumped on top of a zone that was introduced in 2010.

Unfortunately, the Devs don’t seem to have listened to us, when we said we -didn’t- want retail to be nearly as tedious or pointless as classic was. :woman_shrugging:

The Introduction quest was nice for me, I don’t have alot of alts, and it was nice to be going through the story. I got to the point where I’m at greater rifts, then realized It’s going to be a pain for me because I main resto, so I kinda just left it there all week.

I might try to at least do it this week, but I’m not holding my breathe that it will go well. :frowning:

I don’t see anything wrong with what you are saying to be honest. The currency grind is kinda insane. Now we have the added effect of our rng on items set on fire. Think about how hard it is going to be to get the right corruptions. There are some major problems with the patch and I dont think that they are even interested in working on some of the literal bottom tier classes that I actually enjoy like feral/survival now sure they are just ok in a vacuum but why would anyone ever take one over a rogue/dh/warrior. Its pretty crazy they left everything as a smoldering garbage fire for so long. Hopefully the premythic tuning includes some of the underperformers but we all know its likely going to do a whole lot of nothing as per usual.

This, I just dont understand why there is SO much junk from every freaking zone eating up my bag slots.

Time Played Metric and Developers more interested in saving their jobs than producing meaningful enjoyable content.

Plus as I said back in Warlords the more customers the community peeved off, annoyed, chased off and had unsubscribe. The state of the game quality would deteriorate. NOBODY should be shocked at the state of the game.

You need money for making expansions, pay the art departments, programmers and story and quest designers.

Lack of actual subscription dollars, end result is 8.3 Patch.

But yes 8.3 patch is STRICTLY a Time Metric Played patch. Don’t like it, either unsubscribe or completely AVOID the new 8.3 area. When the time played metric drops like a stone - hopefully the shareholders will finally take notice.

All the tedium of classic with none of the fun.

We have a shiny new mount if we persist on though. It’s more than worth it.

Im already so burnt out, i was hyped for 2 days before it started to wear on me, i cant do this again, another patch of camping rares, and doing the same few dailies. Horrific visions are fun but it takes way too long to earn a vessel and actually get to try.

Which is incredibly embarrassing considering since, so far, it is the most feature-devoid expansion in the game’s history, coming after what is the worst live released expansion in the game’s history.
