8.3 content until Nov-Dec

TBH I think it was more that MMORPGs in general hit their fad pinnacle. There would have been a massive decline regardless.

…you mean like every final patch? Wow shocker.

We made it through 14 months of Timeless Isle lol. Not that we should have to but it’s been worse. I’m concerned though that November is TOO SOON.

For me it was, I knew people that unsubbed after 1-2 months though.

Plenty of time to get 12/12 mythic Ny’alotha on maybe a couple characters!

Happens at the end of every expansion. Taking a break is what a lot of people do.

Not me, I have an army of alts and another army to level.

Timeless isle was fun, loved ganking my own faction

I right now waiting for eso to come out in june…deleted all my char spent all my gold and testing out new server…and trying out new specs undead arcane mage…and worgen druid…other than that playing castlevania on my ps4 pro…wishing could get it on pc…oh well

Will Blizz stop taking our money until Nov-Dec? What a coincidence that gold for wow tokens is always at its lowest at the end of an expansion, especially a crap expansion, and now they want to remove Brutosaur. This just coincidentally gives people more time to buy tokens. Honestly never dealt with such an unethical game, but I guess most games are this way nowadays, as if the current pay 2 win systems weren’t enough.

Meh, I rather they focus on SL than waste time time putting more content into BFA. BFA is done for and already took the knee, just be patient and wait it out. At this point, Blizzard could use as much time and bodies as they can get to work on SL and hopefully we can get an expansion that’s gonna be better than any other expansion since cata launch.

Exactly. So looking forward to June 5th. Command & Conquer rts remasters release on the 5th. That game took up so much of my gaming time when I got into pc gaming back in the late 1990’s. If get as into that game like I did back in the day, I might not be playing wow anymore. Or I will wait until looms are upgradable, and just level through Shadowlands for shizz, and giggles. Not excited about horrific visions 2.0 anyways in Sl.

I’m fine with it. I’d have been fine with 2021.

If Shadowlands is good, I mean.

There are lots that ā€˜ā€˜should’’ but they chose what they chose and I think if that means Shadowlands gets more attention then that’s fine.

People have to stop expecting to play every waking minute and always have new content. They cut it short, past is past, maybe it’s fine for some to take a break between now and release.

Some people do. It isn’t for everyone. Like the mission tables.

What the devs need to understand is we don’t all think the same and none of us want exactly the same thing from this game.

That’s why rep tabards were a good idea. That’s why arena was a good idea. That’s why M+ was a good idea. More ways to play the game, more class options, more is always better.

I’ve been killing the time lately on BDO. It’s a terrible game if you want the whole WoW-style PvE endgame, but the characters look great, combat is the best I’ve experienced in an MMORPG even if it’s mostly just used for grinding somewhat trivial mobs, and the story is more interesting than people give it credit for at times. It’s a good side game to mess around with for a little bit at a time since it’s constantly on sale for $5 and has no sub fee.

I also recommend grabbing GW2 and it’s Heart of Thorns expansion and playing through the story for that. Base game’s story is okay, anticlimactic since they focused on story over gameplay, but HoT’s story was fantastic to me, MUCH better than the followup expansion. Gameplay is alright. some decent builds/complexity to it, but ultimately it’s a one-off story game. There is very little to play GW2 long-term. But there’s no sub and basically no gear progression so a $20 investment or whatever isn’t a big deal. You can come back to look at it whenever if you get bored.

Yep, I’ve been dabbling in these 2 as well.

BDO is definitely P2W if you care about that kind of thing, but since it doesn’t have a real PvE endgame hierarchy it isn’t really germane unless you care about node wars and so on. If you take the game as a casual filler game with action combat style, it can be a fun filler game with great graphics, and you can ignore the people who swipe to win.

I’m also enjoying the expac contents for GW2. I don’t consider GW2 a proper MMO in the full sense of the word because there isn’t really the same kind of endgame progression – you can progress masteries and elite specializations but that is over with fairly quickly and then you’re at baseline with everyone else. You can run 5-man fractals and even some raids, but the progression isn’t the same as it is in a game like WoW, so at that point you either level alts (not that interesting once you’ve seen the racial content for each race once), and that’s about it. The game is story-based and has seasonal content for purchase, but isn’t really an MMO in the style of WoW or 14 or something that has a sense of progression, or even something more sandboxy like EVE. It’s really a massively multiplayer game that plays like a single player game for the most part.

Frankly it’s barely even P2W because the price of actually paying to win is ludicrous. Outside of like, a one time purchase of one of the PvP costumes to hide your nameplate if you care about ganking or whatever.

How do people keep getting so surprised by this? First, we’ve ALWAYS had this amount of time or more for the last patch. Always. Second, given how little there was at Blizzcon and how late alpha was, it was absolutely obvious. We’ve known, known, with certainty, that it would be later than normal after Blizzcon.

the initial release date of the next expac was a more optimistic, i believer its the first time they publicly pushed an expac back after stating its estimated release quarter
