/rant But tbh, spending all this time in Horrific Visions now revealed something to me: I looked back fondly on Horrific Visions for what they were back in BFA. And that is, something to do in an expansion with a lot of bad ideas or ideas implemented poorly. I am having WAY less fun in the HVs this time around. Compared to my ongoing project to getting the book mount from the Mage Tower (still missing the healing one) , and I’ve revisited the Mage tower during DF and TWW here and there, and it’s always fun in the way challenges are.
This has nothing to see with the average dps experience. I think there’s only one character of mine that makes the hp bar go down faster than this video of yours. I’ll try it with my Prot, had some lovely times back in MoP then I just abandoned the spec for years to play Arms after that
Maybe OP, but I did it as Unholy pretty easily. 8 mask is stupid easy because of nemisis mask and the extra mobs. Go slow is key take away. Use a WA/timer to track gift timer, use orb if you must when pulling Rexxar, make sure gift is ready to be up when hopefully kililng one of the boars. Take him slow, get the first % check, kill boar, 2nd % check, kill boar, wait for stun/interupt whatever you have then get the last % check and pop everything. Hope for a gift proc then or use orb now. I have done both SW/Org without using an orb as DPS. It’s not hard. The only one that has unavoidable sanity drain is the Hulk and I find that not fair. Every other you can avoid/int/stun it.
Ok. I’m gonna ask the stupid question, because I always do.
I keep seeing people say “Pop the Orb” before the fight which I took to assume it was just to make sure your sanity is max.
Is there a reason to use the orb and start the fight? I have found reduced regeneration when in combat and the puddles from Burning Bridges means if a move a little, I may have to move away from the benefits.
Is there something I am missing? I only use the orbs if I mess up. Have been trying to not use them and stagger Gamon and the pots instead.
When you know you are going to take Sanity hits, popping the orb early can help ensure you don’t accidently die and have to use the once per run auto-rez. Yes, the regen rate is lower in combat. Yes, you may have to move out of its radius. But it can still be the better option than trying to run the entire fight in a single Sanity bar.
Timing of before pulling or during is more of a personal choice based on your style and how well you know what is going to, or likely to, happen during the fight.
Terribly. The NPC is garbage and not worth using. You get a self rez with the tree but you otherwise shouldn’t be dying.
Some subjectiveness here but if you’re on the final boss and have orbs left popping on the pull to stay topped off while you pop off isn’t a bad idea. Especially if you have all orbs you can use more later in the fight as well.
Big play to do is make sure gift is up before a boss and try to find a few enemies to yeet if you can. Can’t always do this but can be helpful if you do.
Does the rez only work with a physical death, or is it supposed to pop on first sanity death? I ask because I haven’t gotten anything for sanity, physical isn’t even a remote possibility, lol.
Pretty sure it’s either, but don’t know for sure off the top of my head. I’d probably just test it yourself via pulling all the things and getting a physical death and then letting alleria/thrall wreck your sanity in another run. It’s good to personally test things sometimes just to make sure you know how it works with confidence.
Ok. I’ve just only been yeeted with sanity and never ressed. Physical damage just really isn’t a thing as prot, hehe. Will recheck my tree points but pretty sure they’ve been full for a while. Hence why I was wondering if I “should” be getting a rez from sanity loss.
