After watching the 8.2 announcement I can say that I feel very little excitement for this upcoming patch. I was most looking forward to class changes and if the heart of Azeroth would be more like Legion artifacts. It seems the heart of Azeroth will include abilities that are shared between all classes so it won’t be spec specific. Honestly, even after seeing the new abilities I’m not excited, i’m just meh.
I was hoping for more class related changes and more abilities to be baseline instead of on a new gear system that will be scrapped next expansion. The new zones and raids look good but if my classes still feel one dimensional and “spammy” I’m going to get bored fast and quit the game. I mean, its a damn shame looking through my spellbook now which is 2 pages compared to what it was expansions ago with 5+ pages full of abilities.
Maybe I’ve just grown tired of the game but I’ve never been more inclined to quit than now. Theres so much feedback on how to make classes complex and interesting yet what we have is every class is a builder/spender and it’s so homogenized class rotations all feel so indifferent.
meh…

Nothing added appears to fix the problems with pruned class gameplay in my eyes, and I’m probably only going to return if we get Sethrak (or another reptilian race), so no.
still holding out hope though.

I always hope to come back for small periods of time. The issue is WoW isn’t a habit any longer for me. It was…for nearly 15 years the go to game for me.
Blizzard cured me of this addiction. I have spent hundreds of dollars on other games in the past few months. I’d rather give my money to those developers than people that view my existence as a hindrance to their vision.
You aren’t going to clean up the crap storm that BfA is in a single patch, when you’ve effectively been ignoring feedback for it since it was in Beta.
The lesson here is, next time you want to build bridges, start early. Be honest, truthful, and engaged. All this group is talk at players. Maybe some day they will learn the lesson of what effective communication really is and what it can do.

I agree the new zones and new systems look decent. But I don’t think the 2 new zones/the one change to the necklace will fix the overwhelming lack of progression that retail has. I will test out 8.2, but I’m very skeptic.

This is very well said. The game’s focus seems to be getting narrower and narrower.

I am still here, not playing like I used to play during legion, but still here.
This time I will pay close attention to the PTR as they refused to modify classes again, if the new neck system doesn’t affect my class play style in a positive meaningful way, I will stop burning tokens just to be able to farm mounts.

I agree the problems can’t be fixed with a single patch. The earliest I expect to see class changes now are in 9.0 which is a year or two away. I’m also not very confident the changes they implement will even be positive with how development has been recently. My sub ends today so I might just take a break for a bit…

Never left. Not saying the games in a good current state though.
No, the earliest I might come back is the next expansion and I won’t be buying it at launch. There would have to be significant changes for me to come back but I will likely still be keeping up and seeing if the next expansion is any good.

I don’t think I will. I’m having a lot of fun in FFXIV. I finished the story, working on my gathering, leveling alts. BFA just isn’t fun to me. I had fun in legion and did heroic raiding. BFA just doesn’t have the same pull to me. The story of BFA from what i played i really enjoyed. I really enjoy having a reason to play on a pvp server.
What killed it for me is the lack of content. I finished all the story and raids in 8.1. I took a break and came back for Battle for Dazar’alor. Since i finished that i haven’t returned. I don’t like Islands or Warfronts. I am more of a World PvP player so I don’t play bg’s and arenas often either.
FFXIV may not have WPvP but, it has a fantastic story and so much more content to keep me busy while i wait for the next expansion such as my favorite type of content, Player Housing.
Depends on what the story of 9.0 is if I decide to come back or not.
I would wager most people on the forums are still playing instead of lurking around the forums on a daily basis. I could be wrong but that would seem weird to be the case.
(Lurking) XD. I like the community here. They can be fun to argue with sometimes.
Class changes in patch 8.2 is going to be the make or break point for many people IMVHO.
That is why the first few PTR builds are going to say a lot for the future of BFA.

I bet many who come back for 8.2 will unsub again in under 30 days.

If I play, it will be as s soical thing with my son. He likes to level characters, so thats all I would do.
No it will not bring me back.
Bellular was correct. This x-pac might be the straw that broke the camel’s back. I made a post about it last week. This is the first time I really just dont like where they are taking the game.
I am a player who started on launch day.
