8.2 Warmode only World Quest

Gee, thanks Blizzard. Warmode only World Quest with tangible rewards for the Horde to casually get uncontested. Until you fix the faction imbalance, this is just another free handout to the Horde. Alliance will rarely win it and fall behind.

Just look at the Hall of Fame. More than 100 Horde completed compared to 11 Alliance. What a joke. Essentially 90% of Horde players have warmode turned on while about 5% of Alliance do.

Great game. Great balance. Will end up just as disasterous as WM was at launch. Just give Alliance a 20% increased damage and healing buff when outnumbered 5 to 1 at launch so we have a chance please.

Sure you fuss about that, but the rewards are mostly pvp based. What about the warmode off only event that lets you farm mana pearls. Thats some bs. Anyone wanting any real gear rewards is goimg to have to leave it off

Yeah, i know right, i mean if you people whine enough they will probably give you an AOO equivalent buff as well.

As if i need to see another 10000000 alliance on WM joining. Its already bad enough being a frostmourne horde.

Yeah it can be rough for the horde on oceanic realms. But tbh the horde attitude could improve from talking smack in trade/zone chat about how alliance can only 5v1 and the horde should instead create a raid and deathball the alliance out of whatever zone they are bullying other horde at… kinda think that the initial horde mode problem created a certain stick together attitude for alliance and the horde dont have that as much on oceanic realms. To be fair to the horde though there are more alliance players on the OC servers so the AOO quest culd be unfair on OC realms if thats the case in terms of wm numbers too.

Exactly, ive always supported WM balance, But ever since AOO came out and there were posts to invite people to join Frostmourne horde farm on forums i have just become bitter.

It is impossible to play as horde on oceanic servers. Before AOO it was nice and dandy equal numbers, fun fights. After AOO, its just a roflstomp no point even trying to fight back. Zone chat has the same 5 to 10 people. Come to a point i just either shard hop or turn WM off and move on with life.

Im already prepared for a entire 8.2 of never seeing the WM only WQ bonus for frostmourne. Just something to live with.

Ah, im gonna respectfully disagree that it was nice and balanced before AOO. It was pretty rough for the alliance. I would say a lot rougher than it is for the horde now. I saw legit backpeddlers on horde back then and wm off at the seal was a ghost town, it was really wm = horde mode from what i saw
Nowadays imo its not impossible for horde on oceanic and I say that coz I have horde alts in wm but its certainly a bit rougher.
We agree on the AOO quest being unfair if they lump the numbers between NA servers and oceanic servers but we dont know that for sure. But it sure does seem like that.
I still get good wpvp these days on both sides

We talking about NA or oceanic? I agree if you are looking at NA, it was HORRENDOUS for alliance. I imagine how im feeling now in oceanic is how they would have felt it NA. An that was/is a problem.

But if we look at the oceanic side of things, it was always bad for horde but it was manageable, if there was a zone with either too much horde or alliance we had the option to fight back. Whenever i had fights it was always 7-8 alliance/horde against 5-7. So it was fun. But now, ever since AOO, its a steamroll train

Yep and thats why sharding is another problem. Everyone has their own experiences and bring those to the forums. So it was bad on NA for alliance so they brought those experiences to the forums.

But on oceanic it was nice and fine so we kept quiet. Yes there were the immature bunch of instigators who went “git gud”, “off WM” but most of us didn’t partake and actually sympathized with the pain felt by alliance.

But ever since AOO, everytime someone talks about the same problems faced by the horde, its quite bad a response too. Even those who were initially feeling the pain from the alliance side join in.

And blizz has yet to fix the problem for oceanic servers. I think some RP servers are feeling the pain too but they are a stronger bunch compared to me, i like pvp but im not rp-ing in any shape or form, wont see me going “For the horde lok tar ogar/ smash smash”. Im more of the “Anyone wants to group so we can handle the alliance?” Oh no one in zone, ill come back later.

I am curious to see how blizz will handle this. Doing a dynamic AOO instead of a blanket buff to all servers will be a good start

Yeah, i heard about those servers. I like the random world encounters where its 1v1, 2v1 or 2v2, always having to be wary of who is coming from which direction.

Those servers just end up being massive 20v20 or more just lagging out the world. If i wanted to have 20vs20 i could join BGs.

I like having the suspense when doing world quests, imagine running around doing WQ or story missions and out of the corner you see a member of the opposing faction, you start to weigh your options, how close is he to mobs, how much health he has, are you geared to win?

Nowadays its just walking around doing quests, you see a red, then another 8 reds just pop up all dash to ya and your dead.

Well the alliance war mode communties we fighting and taking over that event.

I play both horde and alliance on NA and I find it a nice give and take. Sometimes there’s a 10-20 person raid roaming around but it happens on both sides. It’s extremely rare to see these 40-80 person swarms that people always rant about. I’ve seen that happen just once or twice and they were city invasions so really, completely different than the mob attacking the lone herb picking peacenick who just happened to have warmode on in a questing zone

This is the faction speaking who had AOO and a 30% currency bonus, the latter for a few weeks and the former steadily every other week, ALL throughout 8.1. And the Horde got nothing better than 10% currency bonus and NO AOO week.

No matter how much Blizzard kisses your butt, you still fail. You still demand more. You still wish to punish the other faction who would take, but not really demand, the rewards they get.

I love your OP, Kame. That’s the most honesty we’d ever get. And this isn’t even the only thing that is broke about PvP. But your faction still can’t handle smoking some long L’s. This reads more like you’re upset that no matter how low you keep the Horde down, they still prevail. I just have to laugh at the irony.

Pepperidge Farm remembers when that used to be my problem, when I rerolled Dark Iron to come back to the Alliance and I learned real quick in 8.0 they don’t have what it takes to compete against the Horde on an EQUAL footing. Now that toon is benched, more or less, because he has no work to do if it doesn’t involve an easy W for Alliance.

War Mode is here to stay, for the rest of WoW’s “20 years”. That’s 5 more years of this, so enjoy it while it lasts!

Two things i want to throw out here.

I haven’t turned off WM all expansion until now. Im running around Mechagon and there’s less then 10 Alliance running around. There is over 20 Horde running around. And it’s obviously not sharding, because we’re not seeing any new Ally show up.

The PvP event in Najatar has been nothing but free wins for the Horde. Sharding is not affevtong that at all. I was in a 20+ raid earlier for the event, and we couldnt take a base because we were continually out numbered where we went.

Easy fix. When one faction clwarly outnumbers the other faction, give the under represented faction a buff that will at least make WM and the PvP event competitive. They had passive buffa in WG and TB back in the day to make sure the raid swotched hands. There’s no reason they cant make something similar to even up the number imbalance.

RP shards are complete opposite. We’re super outnumbered right now.

20% Enlisted = 20% Healing, Damage, Health IMO.

Exact opposite here in OCE, same problem though.

If there’s a numbers disadvantage just turn WM off. Then its a downward spiral eventually forcing all horde/alliance to turn it off.

I love WPvP, at least when it works. I don’t mind running into the occassional 2v1, so long as I know its possible that the opposite could happen.

Right now in OCE, if you have WM on, you will constantly die over and over again because there are always at least 5 alliance players in the vicinity. Its even worse in Mechagon, it takes about 6 deaths just to get back to rustbolt for safety. You can’t hearth, can’t use whistle, can’t run away, its literally running 5 meters, dying, rezzing and then running another 5 until you get to the guards.

Why can’t they shuffle people from huge alliance servers to servers with no alliance?

Some RP-former-PVP server players don’t want to mix with Normal (non-RP) servers any more than they already do.

I’ve proposed preferential sharding - first with guild, then with server, then with server type (RP or Normal), then across server type - and the RP people seem okay with that since sharding with one’s guild is seen as a big plus. But without some support on my suggestion thread in General Discussion, I doubt Blizzard is going to pay attention.

The horde don’t just get free rewards. Often times when those battles in Naz all the alliance get shared out leaving 0 enemies to kill. With the quest requiring you to kill one person to get the reward it becomes impossible to complete. I have been in about 5 battles so far and 4 of them had 0 allience in the shard. Only in one of them did I find an alliance to fight. It’s not fun for horde either. The system. Is utterly broken.
