[8.2.5] "Azeroth is free!"

He does spend a lot of time on them.

Simple really. The Horde looses Lordaeron and the forsaken are forced to set up shop in the Alterac ruins.

In Kalimdore, the Horde looses Splinter Tree Post and the Mor’shan Rampart to a Kaldorei and Draenai offensive. Forest Song is turned into a Draenai walled fortress with an accompanying Naru. The Mor’shan Rampart has had its Orcish walls and towers torn down and replaced by Kaldorei towers and fortifications similar to those found in Feathermoon Stronghold.

The NPC forces at Forest Song, and the now renamed Maiev Rampart will be maximum lvl elites and given talent table similar to the faction NPCs of the Trial of the Crusader raid.

Auberdine is rebuilt, complete with natural and racial fortifications and a shipyard.

The Horde will have to enter Ashenvale through Azshara or by boat from Orgrimmar, or armed Zeppline escort from Thunder Bluff.

You see, no feces on anybody Kaldorei victory!

Not necessarily. She just has to be out of the Horde. I suspect the patch will be the rebels taking control of the Horde and her fleeing or simply be gone when they go to face her. We already know she is off somewhere working some angle.

Or, given her parallels with Arthas her master may need her for something and she gets called to help. Something like the keepers doing an assault on Ny’alotha reminiscent of Illidan’s attack on the Frozen Throne. Maybe the next expac is us trying to aid them.

I can see a number of ways Blizzard might have her survive and the war end without any kind of redemption.

Exile for Sylvanas into the deepest darkest depths of the Shadowlands, where she is doomed to walk forever as an immortal undead, completely alone and nothing to rule over.

Well, maybe not completely alone. The spirit of Kel’Thuzad is supposedly down there somewhere, isn’t he?

Damn. I can see it now. Shadowlands is going to turn into WoD 2.0 with KT being the next Gul’dan.

I will be planting one for every time Teldrassil is ignored, outside of a cameo namedrop.

So… Basically, I’ll become a human sporemound.

I mean disregarding that obvious fact that Sylvie isn’t going to end up as a villain. Kel’Thuzad is still alive, you seen his phylactery anywhere? In HotS he actually makes reference to the players not bothering to find it in one of his quotes.

Place your bets! Place your bets here!

  • Disappointing Alliance “victory”
  • Cheap, easy Pyrrhic Victory
  • Sylvanas does 10d Chess and wins
  • AZEROTH IS FREEEEEEE
  • “Muh honor” disappointing victory.
  • Anduin Cries.

Can i take all of them all at once ?

I mean, your prize winnings might not be as grand. But hey! Why the hell not?

Because Blizzard sure as hell is!

I meant bet on them all happening

Put me down for all of the above, all at once into one grand, disappointing 10D chess game of a cheap, easy, Pyrrhic ending by the Alliance and the Honor Horde, with Anduin crying tears of joy while Sylvanas claims that Azeroth is free.

It IS looking like Theramore/Garrosh 2.0 all over again.

My issue is with the fact that the writers wrote themselves into this corner. At this point Sylvanas has to pay for what she did. If the Shadowlands leaks are true and she reveals some master plan that sees us ultimately working WITH her throughout the next expansion, I’ll be SEVERELY disappointed… and I’m sure any fans of the night elves will be severely outraged.

What’s frustrating is that all they needed was to add some complexity to what she did, as with the Broken Shore. What baffles me is that they use Old God corruption for everything else… except here where it would’ve made her “redemption” more palatable.

We’ll see what transpires, but my fingers are crossed the leaks aren’t true.

I’m glad someone linked this so I didn’t have to track it down.
