8/19 - Stuck at Logging in to game server

It’s sad that I am upset, It’s a real word problem that I cant log on lol. guess I will go enjoy that fireball in the sky! more important things to worry about

Lovely ISP issues…

Can you confirm which Phone company works? First thing I tried today was using my mobile data which failed miserably. Have periodically gone back to it to check throughout the day and No Dice. I either get to login relatively quickly to a dead realm - or not login at all - attempting to change realms to log to another character results in a disconnect.

I was having the exact same problem but I was able to log in after disabling the system option “Enable IPv6 when available” ! Not sure if other people have tried (thread is too long) this but it worked for me just now.

nah it’s on blizz end

So my ISP is ok with me playing on the PTR but not on the retail…

k…

This post right here man

Almost 10 hours of down time Blizz… Ya know, it might have been awesome to have an alert on the battle.net app saying that this is a known issue and it is on Blizzards end, so that your loyal fan base aren’t stressing out trying the suggested trouble shooting ideas provided by your website…

Lets celebrate 15th years WoW anniversary! So happy! =D

Do yall contact the ISP and tell them if it’s effecting so many customers?

What if the customers didn’t contact them?

Good questions to ask so I’m asking them

Meaning an ISP that they are connected to in one way or another is causing some of the problems and they are trying to get them to help resolve the connectivity issue.

I’m in, but there’s no movement on the server. All the NPC are just chillin.

Come on people. Many of us were able to identify this as a networking issue outside of Blizzard’s control long before they said so. This is not impacting everyone and is somewhat erratic.

If you are going to criticize the company, do it for real reasons and not simply blame them as a knee jerk reaction. They wouldn’t put up a notice that the service was down, because it actually wasn’t. Many people were having issues, but it was never down. We figured out the VPN trick hours ago.

All of these calls for game time is like griping to them about not being able to play if your power goes out. The issue had nothing to do with them. I am certain that what is actually happening right now is that Blizzard is throwing their weight around trying to get the ISP responsible to actually fix the issue. ISPs don’t treat companies any better than end users.

The simple fact that you can route around the issue proves beyond any doubt that the issue is not a Blizzard one.

Oh and the level of ISP they are referring to are the ones that an end user could never reach. They only deal with big companies and other ISPs.

I am and have been using a hotspot for a couple of hours and still no luck

Which makes the “it’s an external ISP issue” sound even more suspect …

I dont quite understand how this is an Internet Service Provider issue when my internet works fine, just blizzards end is not working

There’s a 1/3 (at best) chance I can confirm this.

After trying to simply reboot my Verizon FiOS router, which was no help, I used the IT Crowd method: I turned it off (and waited the > 60 seconds recommended by techs to allow it time to lose all settings in volatile memory) and turned it on again.

Unfortunately for conclusive testing, I saw this post and turned off IPv6 (except for link local), and also changed my secondary DNServer before trying again — and now I’m logged on to a toon on Jaedenar again. Appears fully functional so far.

are looking into this now. Please feel free to post a traceroute ran to 24.105.30.129 to help us gather info. When posting the traceroute please select the entire post and hit the Preformatted text button (looks like </> ) which should allow links.

We will post updates as they’re available.

Would be nice to have some Internet Service Provider names - and if they happen to share the same backbone as Verizon… Still only an issue with Blizz connections being unstable along said routes as everything else on the internet is working as usual
