They just announced that 8.1 will be coming on Dec 11. I currently feel that the content right now is already stale and their isn't much incentive for me to be playing that much right now.

No, the game is definitely already stale, but it's also hemorrhaging subscribers and 8.1 is their last chance to turn it around. Good for them for taking more time.
I wa hoping for sooner too, but if you feel things are stale this early in the expansion I worry that this patch won t fix that.
The main things to be excited for with the raid, imo, are the systems changes. Lots of really great changes coming to key systems. I wish we could get those sooner, especially season season 2 isn't until January or later.
But either way, it's only a few weeks.

Is the raid coming out on the same day? I heard they were post poning the raid when 8.1 went live.
Oh man I thought it would be here Tuesday. This is the most depressing Blizzcon ever.

its always some time after the patch drops, they did it the same way in legion
tbh it's 8.2 that matters. that's flight. everything else, raids and bs, are not as important as flight.
though i know my class is getting some decent buffs in 8.1 so i won't look down my nose at THAT.

No, the raid was said to come early 2019. Likely alongside season 2.

People started feeling staleness in the game in like week 2. Another month+ to a patch that really won't address the reasons why probably won't keep people subbed or get them to resub. Particularly with actual non raid content another 5+ months (and flying) beyond that.

This expansion is about leveling new races in old content - either you want to do that or you don't. There is nothing else - they spent the money for content in this expansion on revamping the old areas.

Do you have a lot of classes?
just level a new thing.
I still don't have a DK nor a Priest... I don't rush to level all classes like everyone.. I take my time.
Just do that in between patches.

This. I think at this point this patch has to be executed nearly perfectly as it's kind of the last chance for a lot of people that have left or are leaving.
I had canceled, but might go ahead and keep the sub long enough to see how it is and hopefully it will add enoigh to make the game more enjoyable again.
Nothing in 8.1 is fixing this. Fingers crossed for 8.2
All these overworked power gamers saying things are stale. How about you go play another game for a month so you can kill the new content in a week, Or try not to be easily bored.
