74% of the player base wants longer expansions

Citation please?

Oh I just thought it was funny cause I’ve been gold farming since last night trying to buy the new expansion. I definitely am only getting the base, cause that third option is a tad pricey for me.

No, we’re not. They’re explicitly aiming for the same amount of content with less downtime after the expansion is finished.

The whole point of announcing three expansions is to placate the people who whine about the story by promising that this time they’re planning things out way in advance and it’s not going to feel like we’re just bouncing from one totally disconnected filler arc to another. They never said the expansions would be mini-expansions or whatever; people are just looking for excuses to complain

player base = longer expansions = better value for money

blizz =less work=more money

guess which ones gonna get what they want?

Don’t know where you got your numbers but I guess i’m part of the other percent.

I’d rather they deliver large patches quicker than bind themselves to the expansion formula. Honestly I don’t think Blizzard went far enough. A move away from expansions entirely would have been better.

Instead of splitting the team up like they’re doing, they could pump out major patches with loads of content on a quicker cycle as one team.

Did he really? because that’s highway robbery.

Show me your receipts

No he didn’t.

This. And I get being skeptical, but seeing this talking point tossed around as though it’s been proven is really annoying, especially seeing as Ion has clarified exactly what they meant (which was, in my honest opinion, the obvious takeaway from Metzen’s announcement anyway).

1 raid per expansion is less content.

Enjoy paying more for less.

I am guessing that these expansions will have 2 raids maybe if they want them released faster. They were probably told release expansions faster so we can collect more money.

according to my data that i didnt bother to collect or varify 90% of players want tail options for all races. tail decorations. Tail weapons. Tail variety.

the game is played in 3rd person. a tail is 100% relevant in all visual game play content as most of the time all we see is the characters from behind. :dracthyr_hehe:

He said this in an interview with Preach I think it was. Or it was the QnA, I don’t recall, there were so many private dev interviews I went through.

But his quote was I believe:

Obviously it’s gonna have what you expect, War Within is going to have 4 Zones 8 Dungeon 1 Raid, Midnight is going to have 4 Zones 8 Dungeon 1 Raid, The Last Titan is going to have 4 Zones 8 Dungeon 1 Raid, and so on."

I really love this fixation on “quicker expansions”

Like where have you all been? They’ve basically said that every fricking expansion. And yet, nothing has ever changed.

And yet, here you all are. Flailing around about “quicker expansions” and then in true wow forums fashion, making up details in your own heads to freak out about.

I want a burrito tail, basically it’s a tail made out of one long burrito! Self-regrowing when I eat it, unlimited burrito!

PR work must be nightmarish for Blizzard. The WoW community is allergic to context.

Where does this number come from?

Yeah, you’re misrepresenting what he said. The question was something to the effect of “since expansions are coming quicker, will they have less content?” His answer was saying that we’re going to get the same expansions we always get, just quicker.
