(70 to 80) Bottom of the DPS Chart During Most Instances

Hi all, I’m leveling my mage as my second character for PvP now and have tried all three specs. To level, I use the LFG function to find groups to do instances and level fast.

I’m level 75 now, and I’m not sure if I’m doing anything wrong. I’m near the bottom 1 or 2 in the DPS for nearly all raids. Even the first 1 or 2 players are like 3 to 5 times my DPS.

Many of them are leveling toons from 50 to 70. I don’t know how level scaling works, but I’m in my level 70s and they are out-DPSing me. This also happens to people with levels higher than mine.

I noticed that Monks, Warriors, and DKs are severely outdamaging and outbursting me in every way.

Am I playing the game wrong? Or is it just caused by my gear level?

It depends on what spec you are playing. The problem with Frost mage’s experience in early dungeons is usually placement and weird tank decisions. Like if your tank keep pulling the adds out of your stuff you won’t be doing any damage, while a rogue, monk, warrior, dk-s can easily run after and DPS during movement.

Arcane and frost seem to be ok’ish. But fire is an absolute embarrassment trash tier garbage spec.

If frost the tank moving mobs out of your aoe will kill your numbers. It feels safe but arcane is better. That said warriors and dk have a lot of instant on. Same with monks. If the tank doesn’t move adds then frost is fine.
