lol that’s why i always ask for the melee side with boss, otherwise my fel guard goes on a holiday until the tentacle leaves.
You clearly havn’t played BM Hunter if you think that… Mend Pet does hardly anything, and the 2min CD on Exhilaration is too long to be reliable. Meanwhile Warlocks can use Blood Siphon to heal their pets all day at a much higher rate than Mend Pet. Not to mention any source of Leech the Warlock has benefits their pet, unlike Hunter’s… Us Hunters can stack leech all day long, and it will never benefit our pet…
It has always been easier for a Warlock to maintain their demons than for a Hunter to maintain their pet… Any nerf that impacts the general survivability and upkeep of pets as a whole will affect Hunter’s more than Warlocks. Especially us Beast Master Hunters who are entirely reliant on their pet being up to do any sort of reliable damage. Demonology Warlocks will feel an impact from it as well, but not nearly as much since if their main demon goes down, they can still continue summoning hordes of lesser demons to do their bidding. For them it’s a mere 5% damage drop… for us if our pet goes down, that’s 80% of our damage… Beast Master Hunters HAVE to be able to get our pet back up quickly…
So if they really are making that a 6 second cast, then they had better be buffing the hell out of our pet survivability and giving us better tools to keep them up as Beast Masters…
I have a feeling that I’m going to get a few more deaths in solo situations because of this change. 3 or 4 seconds I’d be disappointed, 6 though? Ouch…
We’ll have to wait and see how it plays out, but 6 seconds is way too long! imo
Pretty much all the alpha testers hate it. Blizzard also just released new updates to alpha and have quietly ignored those comments. Right now I am expecting this to go live.
So expect another expansion where all the warlocks go demon hunter
You sure are fun.
I’m eating a ham sandwich with sauteed mushrooms right now, hbu?
Wait, what was that?
I wonder why I’m not taking you seriously, at all.
How are you letting your pet die in a raid? This is a PvP change for Elune’s sake…
You don’t need to take me serious. Your opinion doesn’t matter anyways.
I wouldnt say ONLY. It affects both. But Warlocks DO get it worse. Because they have a Shard Cost AND healing requires a Channeled Heal that drains your Health.
Just because Locks have it worse doesn’t mean that Hunter concerns should be disregarded.
It takes a year for a BM hunter pet to die. If your pet died, you deserve to take 6 seconds of damage like the rest of the world takes all the time.
Sorry about it
So instead of saying the time may be long, your answer is “don’t let your pet die?”
Yeah. That’s not contributing. That’s just mocking and insulting.
imo it should be a stacking cast time that resets by leaving combat.
so first time should be 2-3 seconds. second time 3-4 seconds. third time 4-5 seconds. etc Diminishing returns on pet revive.
that way the first time its needed there is no change to the down time.
People who goes “hur dur! just don’t let ur pet die 4head! use skill!” are insanely dense and probably don’t play a pet class at all.
I play lock. Right now, I resummon pet under following conditions
Out of combat: 95% of the time: When M+ Key inexplicably decides to despawn my pet. When leaving arena inexplicably de-spawn my pet. When recovering from a wipe, resummoning my pet. Changing Spec despawn your pet.
In combat: 5% of the time.
and for that 5% of the time, 95% of the time it is because I needed to resummon a different pet for different utility. Need dispel, resummon imp. kicker dies, resummon into dog. wpvp, resummon into succy for snare.
the remaining minuscule amount of time, i resummon a pet because it taken excessive damage during combat or died.
by changing pet summon time as is, it does 3 things.
- Add general irritation to every day activity, non combat related.
- Limiting play creativity with pet swapping.
- Encourage pet training in PVP.
Horrible change for no positive gain whatsoever.
lots of teams in arena can kill it in seconds.
saying a player deserves to have a 6s res time because their pet died is just absurd. the pet isn’t a player. killing them isn’t hard. killing the pet is basically a free kill on the hunter.
Yeah, you can kill a player in seconds in high-level arena too. That’s not a constructive argument.
Ah, so “You Suck.” is the answer. Yeah, that’s not actual discussion, that’s just mockery and insults.
Hunters have a single HoT for their pets. Warlocks have to Channel to heal their pet. They both lack realistic mitigation options. They have to rely on the heals to be strong enough (which they aren’t) to keep their pet alive. Or … maybe give them realistic damage mitigation options. Or maybe leave the rez time alone.
Beat it, pal. Only one class has bragging rights as the perennial whipping boy.
???
so, that makes it even more okay with you? Killing the pet is 10 fold easier then killing a player. If killing the pet means you get a free win, why would you ever kill the player?
We have already been here. In MoP hunters had a long res time on pets and it was a nightmare. Teams started training the pets. They would ignore the hunter. Killing the pet meant the hunter was doing no damage and lost defensives as well. Back then, mend was even stronger then it was now. It could be spammed. It could remove some dots. You had more pet defensives.
Now we have none of those…
Another case of fixing something that isn’t broke.
Most of the time I have no time to cast revive pet so I go-go-go without it
sorry I was meaning for PVE…it’s crummy that way too
