If my math isn’t off… this is the new lazy man’s way of getting guilded crests?
Kill six LFR bosses, get 3 vault choices.
Reset day, take 6 coins instead of gear
Buy 45 Runic Crests with coins
Convert 45 Runic Crests to 15 Guilded Crests.
I believe that is the laziest way to get guilded crests?
Sure, but those 15 crests give you 3 iLevels on one piece of gear per week. So it takes 3 1/2 months to upgrade your toon 3 iLevels. Possible, but not practical. (Assuming you have gear capable of being upgraded with these crests, which you can not get running LFR alone.)
Which is the entire point, it’s not a primary path of gearing. It’s A path, but not in anyway an efficient path. But a nice way to round out a few pieces that you don’t get upgraded through running the higher end content.
More realistically you just use them to make crafted items. At 4 weeks for 17 ilvl it’s more efficient than upgrading hero pieces, goes to a higher ilvl, and doesn’t require hero pieces to begin with.
That isn’t lazy, it’s self-flagellation. I can’t think of anything more painful than adding multiple LFRs to a weekly list of WoW chores.
I could achieve the exact same thing as you’re suggesting by clearing normal. It would take less time, be more enjoyable and would provide additional crests that could eventually be converted.
Or just clear heroic, get 30 gilded crests, a full complement of runic crests (which can be converted), take the coins and get another set of gilded crests.
It’s also a nice way for people to more casually collect the Heroic and Mythic recolors for the tier set transmogs, especially for alts. They don’t have to grind out io/ilvl to get to +8s for gilded crests and can get them in a slow, but effective manner.
Also helps out delvers, who are hard-locked on upgrading their heroic gear to 4/6.
While not efficient that is certainly a way, buffing the crest transer rate make us much closer to valor which makes me ask whats the point of a convoluted system when it end up the same way.
