What mount are we getting now for 500?

Hoping it’s something better than a recolor.
Its an otter. New model. Recolor of a rep reward in dragonflight.

Oh, recolor… 
Well I am more happy with an otter than another yeti, but it would be cool if the otter had more stuff on it rather than just recolor.
I´ve beta access and some collectors did post on the alpha/beta forum section but so far silence from Devs.
Actually, there’s 3 Otters without armor and only the 500 mount Otter has armor but there’s another recolors already datamined by Wowhead, so I don’t know if those will be used later for rep or anything else.
I’m still disappointed about the lack of communication on rewards topics.

Also have beta, but I havent checked a lot - just druid stuff, basic evoker and if whites were moggable (they werent).
I hope the 500 mount is a tiny bit cooler than average-joe thingy.

Not only are there multiple recolors, the “Ivory Trader’s Ottuk” is the same exact model/color but with less armor than the 500 mount reward and in beta you can literally click from one to the other and see that. It is really concerning to see the lack of communication about this topic from the devs, nor has there been any kind of explanation as to why they would consider an achievement of this merit to be rewarded a mount that has 3+ recolors, one of which being almost identical. I mean they could fix this easily and make it like a spectral ottuk or something - just please not something that you basically get as a rep reward. I really hope they catch wind and help us out here.

I have heard one of their rationales is that they don’t want newer players to see a really cool reward with a huge time sink to get it. I think this reasoning is flawed for at least four reasons.
- having a very desirable ‘high end’ reward that players can strive for is exactly what made this game so engaging. Legendaries in vanilla, ashes of al’ar in bc, invincible in wrath, mythic level xmog/mounts/titles in current day game, Glad mounts, just to name a few.
- Cutting Edge / HoF/ Gladiator all exist. These not only take a huge time sink but extreme dedication in and out of the game to gain the skills/knowledge/network needed to complete them. Glad mounts also go away and are unique/desirable.
- Although I don’t have the figures to back this up, a 500+ mount collector is likely to be way more valuable from a business perspective than a new player. I have personally spent thousands of dollars over the years between accts and tokens. I’d be surprised if most new players in 2022 even make it to 1 yr worth of sub time paid.
- There are so many rewards, and specifically mounts, already. Is a cool looking 600 mount collection achieve really going to cause that much stress for new players? I wonder if they have any data to back up their claim that new players would see a 600 mount reward and quit because of it. Seems like a really weak excuse.
I’ve said this in the past, but it appears the current dev team is tunnel visioned on this and many other topics. I have 0 hope anything will change until there are new people in decision making roles on the WoW team. 3

I’d like to see something like
that doesn’t have a recolor until this day, instead of the pattern of recolors each 4 years for a new mount achievement, also a recolor could be Outstanding like an Astral Otter
The current one is cute but there’s already recolors on the datafiles and also unarmored versions with same color on the beta, at least from my point of view, it lacks the “show off” feeling for collectors. BTW, the sounds from those Otters are great!!!

Spectral, flying and swim speed, and an otter. I’m actually excited to get this and will probably be my go to mount in DF in areas that don’t use dragon riding.

Yeti ingame is awful. The model is itself isnt bad, just the detail.
